  • The location of the restaurant.
  • Dark decor, dark room, no where to put shampoo bottle in shower, no bath, shallow sink with bulky faucet made washing difficult, tip hungry, SVC light.

“Dark and gloomy want to
be over the top expensive hotel in which every charge is different for the same item depending on the server who is hustling to pick up crumbs over the mandatory 18% tagged on for everything. You'll need to bring your own bulbs to replace the 15 watt ones that brighten the brown painted walls and dark floors. Decent food is available at 5 star prices with waiters who can't afford to taste it so the only recommendation becomes a steak with a it's hard to screw that up”

  • We were given an ocean view with a balcony without requesting it.
  • Parking was $19+ a night! Beach chairs were $20!

“We only spent one night so hard to rate. Sister-in-law very unhappy that after calling first for an okay, when they got there, hotel would not let her and family check in early to prepare for a wedding due to "power failure" (which they had at the time of her phone call).”

  • This hotel was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. It was filthy, smelled like vomit and was run down. There was no food left in the restaurant!
  • The hotel staff said they were closing in 2 weeks so you could imagine the condition of the hotel. It looked 100 years old and run down third world!

“This hotel was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. It was filthy, smelled like vomit, was run down, out dated, there was no food left at the restaurant and was absolutely horrible! ”

  • Very comfy bed. Right on the beach. Staff was very friendly.
  • There were no public computers and there was not a gift shop equipped with snacks or toiletries. The pool was in the parking lot, not beach-front.

“Although the exterior of the hotel is brown, boxy, and pretty unattractive, the room was very nice. It had a big, comfy bed and was quiet enough that I could get some rest. The pool itself was very nice, although it is situated in the middle of the parking lot (with walls around it so that you cannot see the parking lot) rather than on the beach-front, which is a little unfortunate. The food was tasty although the dinner was a tad overpriced. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. They have wireless internet access but no public computer, so I think they'd be better off with a public computer and a gift shop of some sort that can sell toiletries, snacks, etc.”

  • Great Location. They are closing to remodel.
  • Employee attitude not good. But they are closing for 6 months.

“Not a good time with the upcoming closing for remodeling the hotel. Super location.”

“OC Beach Resort is a nice place to stay located on the beach but we found it hard to find a reasonable place to eat.”

  • On the beach.
  • The service was very bad.

“The location is excellent but the hotel staff, especially the blond, female bar tender was very bad. The first key I was given didn't work in the door so I had to get another room. The lock was broken on the patio door on my first floor room and one of my co-workers was given the wrong rental car by the hotel valet.”

  • The front desk staff was great.
  • The rooms needed a good carpet cleaning.

“The staff & the common areas were great. Very convenient access to the beach & beach "toys" (for a fee). The valet parking staff was courteous but price for valet parking was too high. My room had a musty smell in the carpet & we asked for a new room or someone to clean the carpet. They did clean the carpet but the smelled remained. I was glad when it was time to leave.”

  • Ocean front location was great.
  • We have stayed in many places called "resort" in the Caribbean and Mexico - never before have we had to pay to sit on a beach chair.

“Very deceptive practice to say it is a resort and then charge $12 per beach chair per day to sit on the beach which is listed as an amenity. Also, hotel is about to close and be refurbished - some parts very shabby and a few staff were very grumpy about losing their jobs although most were very nice.”

“Nice average hotel on the beach. Do not expect first class attitudes or accommodations. Food is ok not great and the staff was not trained for the Ritz. If this hotel was not on the beach I would not stay there not even for a dollar.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[5]

  • Right on the beach.
  • Management needs an attitude adjustment.

“After the front desk person said she'd be happy to reserve an ocean front double bed room for me (since it was still being cleaned), someone who did not wear a name tag or introduce herself to me, let me know that Iżd have to pay to "upgrade." I took another room as I was too tired to argue and the room (although with no view) was fine. Subsequently, I witnessed 3 other travelers experience exactly the same issue - I didn't spend that much time in the lobby, so if I saw 3 people irate about the same problem - well, you can figure that one out. I also saw a woman walk-out after she visited her room to find someone else's luggage already in it. Finally, and this is really troublesome, management left letters under every room door announcing that the city planned to turn off the water the night I left (thank goodness) for 4 hours between 1 and 5 a.m. - no big deal except she suggested that to "flush" one should take water from the swimming pool (in what.?)(Isnżt this a bit unsanitary to put it mildly?) And, maybe worse, since the water would not be safe to drink for the next 48 to 72 hours, bottled water would be on sale in the attached restaurant (warehouse food warmed up, by the way). I am so glad I did not have to witness the fight for drinking water scenes! And whatever you do, don't get in the pool.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[5] • Location:[5]

  • On the ocean.
  • Parking rate; dirty bathroom.

“This hotel was billed as a three star hotel. In previous three star hotels that we have stayed at, we have not been afraid to use the bathroom. This bathroom was dirty and the water was tan every time we used the shower. The hotel charged a ridiculous rate for parking, use of beach chairs, and food/drinks. We would not stay there again.”

  • The location on the beach was wonderful. The hotel staff was informative and helpful. The pool was clean and refreshing!
  • I did not care for all the little tax charges, but I was aware all charges upfront.

“We truly enjoyed our stay. We were treated respectfully and our needs were seen to immediately. Our room was cleaned daily and the view from our room was gorgeous. We would definitely stay again!”

  • Location.
  • The additional costs and required valet parking.

“A great hotel/resort located right on the water in palm beach/lake worth area. A short walk over the intercostals waterway bridge brings you to the downtown shopping and bar areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach was nice, but the use of lounge chairs and umbrellas cost a decent $. Valet parking is required and costs about $20/day.”
