“Deceptive. Claims to be oceanfront, but my experience in travel says this was ocean view, as it did not sit on the beach. Not enough coffee makers, but coffee available 24/7. Poor room layout and malfunctioning elevator with staff (inc. housekeeping) using it.”

“When you first arrive I wasn't sure if we were going to like it because of the appearance, But they had good customer service that was great. We were right off the beach and that was wonderful to come and go back and forth to the water. It did not have a grand look but it was pleasant and they treated us great. They just need to work more on there cleanness. I could tell our linens and towels were but like the floors weren't kept well and the walls either needed to wiped painted or something they looked dingy and it smelled old. But over all we were treated great and had a great ocean front view.”

“This hotel was older and needs to be refurbished but, if you can deal with a later style it is a great place for Miami. I have serious issues with cleanliness and this hotel was very clean. The staff was wonderful!”

“Conveniently located midway between the northern points of Miami and Downtown- and not far from the bright lights and busy pace of South Beach- this Days Inn Ocean Terrace hotel is a charming deco-style that offers unbeatable beach access and the most accommodating and friendly staff any traveler could ever hope for.”

“We brought 6 teenagers and 2 adults to this hotel as a wait for our cruise. It was located on the beach and had many shopping and food areas for the teens to visit. The staff was very accommodating. Kids wish pool was open later of course because they could not leave past 11pm.”

“Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Parking in city lot across the street, had to buy local permit which lasts 12 noon to 12 noon the next day for that lot, no matter when you buy it. No breakfast included, 24-hour coffee available. Easy load-in, but elevator a bit small. We had myself and 2 kids: a 10 and 14 year old, and we just about fit with our luggage. Room was adquate, a bit musty and looked to be recently updated, but needed to be throughly cleaned. Linens and towels clean, bed comfortable, AC worked well, hot showers. This is an older property that they are keeping up fairly well, but it is not a newer property. Location right across from the City lifeguarded beach, a 5 minute walk. Hotel provided beach towels for our use, and you could rent beach chairs. Beach has a very gradual slope, more of a sandbar, and was like a mini swimming pool, pretty clean. My kids were disappointed only that there were no crashing waves like we see on Cape Hatteras. We found out many beaches in Florida and the Keys are like that. We visited in mid-April, didn;t seem to be much SpringBreakers, thank goodness as we were on a family style vacation. We were close enough to drive to the South Beach bustle if we wanted. Our location was pretty quiet. Some local shopping included Walgreens and CVS, a few local bakeries (for our breakfast) and restaurants, one that also had live music.”

“The hotel is perfect if you are looking for a cheap place to stay that is close to South beach. The hotel is more than ok. I went there with my boyfriend and the only time we spent in the hotel was to change and to sleep. The room was a bit small, but we didn't need any more space just for two persons. Great bed and clean room. The bathroom was very small and old, but it was ok. It did its purpose. The staff is very friendly. The location was the best. The beach was just across the road and there were shops and restaurants close. The bus stop was right outside the hotel, and that was a great way to get to South Beach. Only a 10 minutes ride and very cheap.”

“The Days Inn Hotel on Ocean Terrace is mediocre. The neighborhood, like the hotel, has seen its better days. Lots of boarded up restaurants and dollar stores. For $120/night I expected more. It was a hotel for which I should have paid no more than $60.”

“This hotel, being a Days Inn and located on the ocean, I expected it to be an okay place. Clean and well kept, it was not in the least. There were huge stains on all the carpets in the halls, the halls were dingy and shadowy, like something from a scary movie. The smell in the halls was overpowering and putrid. The pool area was roped off with caution tape. Our room was stinky as well, but moderately clean, there was only one elevator in the building and the certificate of operation that was posted was expired by 5 months! One button always stayed lit and two of the others were burned out. There was nothing around, we had to walk 8 blocks or more for a restaurant that was not disgusting.”

“A few things you should know before booking this one: No on-site parking, you have to pay to park off street at whatever metered spot you can find (within a block if lucky, but often further away). So, if you don't want to have to keep coming out all day & night to feed the meter, you have to purchase 2 city issued parking permits from the hotel front desk (one gets you from 8am to 12pm and the other gets you from 12-6pm)- 6pm-8am is free. By the way if you call them before arrival like I did, they won't tell you any of parking stuff unless you ask (A surprise for folks who arrive late & tired like us). No free internet access. They advertise as having it free, but there is only one PC in lobby, you have to pay in increments through a dollar slot, and they brilliantly have dial up service so it takes long as hell to do whatever your trying to do, and they make more money from the service (Bring your own Lap Top for free Wi-Fi Locally). No quite nights sleep for us. Lots of noise and halls, and even empty liqour bottles in stairwells. I had to call office to complain, and the guy said, hey I'm the only one working here at night and will get to this when I can (it was over half hour before he came to hallway and tried to get folks to quite down). The night staff was rather unprofessional, but day staff a bit better. Well, if I'd known all this before, I would have paid a little more for better quality somewhere else if necessary. In fact there is another Days Inn just a blocks down Collins Ave that we explored and found to be in much better shape all around.”

“We arrive at 12:30pm they send me back that I have to came back at check in time (2:00pm)I told them that I am going to came back at night when I came back they said that they gave my room away to somebody -hear this!! That looks like me! How do they know how I look like? Second the elevator was broken and I had to take my luggage up myself. I could not open the window's shades because it faces somebody elses room. The next day when they fix the elevator it was not clean. And the computer was also out of order. So what I did is go to sleep and leave as soon as possible in the morning and came back and left early the next day. I am sorry if I sound spoil but I never experience something like this.”

“The hotel is not ideal for a traveler with wheels. Parking is definitely an issue with this hotel. Metered parking is the only option and monitored from 8AM to 6PM. Check-in went well and the front desk clerk was kind and answered all questions. The hotel is old (mid 1900's?) and there have been attempts to remodel. The one (1) elevator is very small and very slow. The room was acceptable with small fridge and microwave and HD TV (although the cable service was not HD and bad signal overall). The bathroom was small but ok for a short stay. The benefit is definitely the location with the beach across the street. There are local shops & restaurants within walking distance. Overall the hotel has nice atmosphere for short stays but not traveler-friendly if you have wheels to park.”

“Great location, right next to beach and Affordable restaurants + stores. Staff was a lot friendlier than the resort I stayed in earlier in the week. Oh yeah and parking is only $6/day which is extremely cheap. Highly Recommended.”
