• Romantic and very luxurious garden setting around pool - beach was fabulous.
• Nothing.

• A perfect hotel with character. Older, updated.
• Bathroom was small, but didn't really matter.

“A wonderful hotel with great staff. Probably an older hotel that has been totally refurbished. Completely classy. Loved the staff coming to the beach to take orders for drinks/food. Loved that they set you up with lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Food at restaurant was great.”

• Right on the beach. Right at the north end of Southbeach. Within walking distance of ocean drive and Lincoln Road.
• Parking was $38 a day!

“Very nice looking hotel. Right on the beach. Provided nice beach towels and beach chairs. Pool area was really nice too. We didn't eat, but the poolside food was reasonably priced. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were stylish. View from our room was amazing. Parking is $38 a day - not sure if there was cheaper parking nearby.”

• It was very quaint. I loved the Veranda.
• The room & bathroom were very small.

“I was very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, the staff was pleasant, and the hotel was very quaint and comfortable. The room and bathroom were a little small and we had a hard time maneuvering around each other. They were actually working on the hotel and I think when they are finished, it is going to be even nicer. My husband and I had stayed the two previous nights at the Fountain Blue (business) and then moved to The Palms. We both said we liked the Palms better in a lot of ways. The Fountain Blue is beautiful but it is so big. We preferred the location and the quaintness of the smaller hotel.”

• Next to the beach.
• There is no heat and no coffee maker in the room.

“I was there during a cold week. The thermostat in the room shows there is heat but cold air keeps coming out of the vent. There is no indication on the thermostat controls to tell me there is NO heat in the entire hotel until I call the front desk who told me. There no coffee pot or complimentary coffee in the room too. It is only located near the beach but not close to any tourist shopping attraction.”

• Dirty carpet in front of the elevator lobby area.

• Located on the beach. Nice pool. Close enough to Lincoln ave.
• Rude staff. Construction at hotel and both sides.

“Nice hotel. Great room with a view. No cheaper breakfast and dining close by. Staff could have been nicer.”

• Hotel under renovations, but we were provided with free cocktails and orders.

“Very classy hotel. The employees were super professional. They even escorted us to the beach and catered to our every need. I think this is the best customer service I have ever had at a hotel.”

• Nice lobby space and pool area rooms are modern.
• Construction going on at the hotel.

“Hotel has been updated nice rooms. Construction going on by the pool jack hammers etc. Expensive poor quality food. The area is transitional. Beach is dirty with disadvantaged people hanging out. Construction is going on all around hotel. Nothing much close by to eat except snack bars but they are much better than the expensive hotel food and drinks.”

• Nothing near by no shopping or good restaurants.

“The Palms is a beautiful resort like hotel right on the ocean in Miami. It is in the middle of a very run down area and you will need to cab over to the South Beach area to really enjoy your stay.”

• $27 for valet parking, no self parking; pool needs updating.

“Indulge in the atmosphere of Miami Beach at this 4-star hotel on the ocean. Enjoy a lazy day in a hammock while the bar staff continuously circulates to fulfill your every need. The aroma from the made to order omelets will make your mouth water.”

• The location is excellent, it is a very quiet place perfect for relaxation.
• The daily resort fee of $12 and the valet parking $26.

“For the price the hotel was very good, although there is some construction going on right by it and it may cause a little disturbance. By the time you add the daily parking fee and resort fee (total of $38).”

• The hotel was very nice and the rooms were nicely appointed and clean.
• The lobby's air conditioning wasn't working the weekend we stayed.

“This hotel exceeded our expectations. The value was excellent and location was perfect. We only stayed overnight but because the amenities were so convenient, we had an opportunity to hang at the beach and pool.”

“This hotel has very friendly and polite staff. The pool-side bar with hammocks reminded me of a smaller version of a Mexican resort. I would highly recommend this hotel, although beware that there is no coffee or tea in the rooms (something that is important to me), valet parking is $27, and other small costs here and there that can add up if you're not careful! Beautiful pool-side restaurant!”

• The food was overpriced and not that good.
