“They need to paint and refresh this hotel in a major way. It took a while to feel comfortable there because of this. They need new lighting. We did enjoy the private pool and the beach. The restaurant was over priced. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“The room was dirty and tiny. However, the mattress was great. And, when they told me it was $30 a day to park the car when I checked out. That was not mentioned. In fact, I had asked the valet if there was an additional charge for parking, he said it was included with the room. Had I known that parking was extra, I would have changed hotels at that point. Not up to 1 star, not at the price when you include taxes, parking, tipping valets, etc. Food was OK (ate 1 meal at their Asian restaurant - nothing to write home about. No desk in the room to do work. Internet was down 2 nights out of 3 and had to call front desk to reset router, but it did work after the reset. However, their electric outlet fried my disk drive and ruined my laptop.”

“Overall, it was a good trip. My main complaint is that the hotel boasts of having free transportation to and fro MIA but what they don't mention is that they only run one tiny bus every four hours through their 8 hotels so only 5 of their guests will ever actually get on it. We were not able to get on the shuttle at all, even when we scheduled it a day in advance. Be prepared for the $40 taxi ride. There was only one pool in service, the site said two. On the upside our room was very nice. I suspect we stayed in the nicest of the 3 buildings because I saw shag carpet in the main lobby. The Dorset is definitely the nicest building and I was very impressed with our room.”

“First impressions were that it was funky. Rooms are not huge but its comfortable enough. We were in the main building where check in was, at night the bar played loud music which roared through all the rooms. I had to sleep with ear plugs! The house maids are slow to clean the rooms, ours was usually done by 4pm on a good day! The location of the hotel is really good. Also we were not told at check in about a resort fee so at the end of our stay we were charged close to a hundred dollars. Overall the hotel is nothing special but the price was good.”

“The hotel is quite convenient to the beach and major Miami attractions. However, if you are not staying on the beach all the time, this is not the place for you. The hotel does not have any parking space. I have to pay $32/day for valet parking. The valet parking got my car damaged on the last day just before I planned to leave and I could not drive my car because the driver side mirror is completely missing. The attitude of the valet parking was terrible and hotel staff was not very helpful.”

“This hotel had some of the worst house keeping I have ever encountered! The rooms were filthy. The floor had hair all over, the shower tile was covered in mold and 3 light bulbs were burnt out in our room. The common areas of the hotel are the only plus here. By the way valet parking is $32.00 a day. This is a 2star hotel!”

“The robe hanger on the bathroom door fell on my toe and cut it really bad. Even though it wasn’t bad enough to go to the hospital it did bleed for most of the night. The hotel only offered me a $30 coupon for lunch at their restaurant. I feel that something better could have been appropriate.”

“The hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately it is only good if you intend to join the all night drinking party. Don't plan to sleep at night, the noise level of people and music is way to loud for that. The decor is 70's including the red rugs in the public areas. The rooms are red and white with red lighting the only thing missing for a truly slutty looking room is the heart bed. Not a place I'd stay again!

“The first room I was in was painted white 2/3 the way up the wall and an absolutely hideous red the rest with a red paper lamp hanging over the middle of the bed. There was no decent lap in the room, so no decent lighting. The window was small and there was no real chair to sit in. Just either the bed or some kind of backless, armless couch! There was no carpeting and no rug in the room. There was also a small desk and chair. All in all, there is no way I would stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone! Even the halls were so dark it was difficult to see the room numbers!”

“The rooms were very small, so small that you could not lay out your luggage on the floor without tripping on it. Weird paintings and red ceilings in each room. Instead, it was not hip it was just irritating! I would never stay here again as it was not comfortable, relaxing or very clean.

“Hotel tried too hard to be modern and different. The room was definitely unique, but little attention to detail made it look fairly poor (the painter obviously didn't have a steady hand as the trim lines were horrid). The white parts of the walls were very scuffed. The best thing about the hotel was the shower - very unique. The shower head was mounted in the ceiling, giving a totally free-falling overhead waterfall feeling to the shower. For the price, the hotel was acceptable.”

“All these complain regarding this hotel are true. It looks nice outside, and then you get your key room and surprise! This hotel smells like wet dog perfumed with cheap cologne. It has its cleaning car 24x7 standing around the hallways, thin walls and tiny hallway to go through your room's door; which allows you to hear perfectly who is getting in and getting out, jocks, smiles, laughing, drunken people noise and some passion noises also. The room are very smalls with two non comfortable beds, no central air (they have an old unit of air conditioning to make your dreams loud), cheap decoration, red walls and lights (like a strip nightclub). The bathroom is tiny where only one person can fit at the time. Customer service: the worst ever, rude people with arrogant attitude and low customer service skills. They consider themselves as a 3 hotel stars; honestly it looks like a motel inside with a nice front. I requested a bigger room due to noise and room's size and of course they did not have another one available. I told them I was not satisfied with their service and installations and they did not care about it. Conclusion: I don't recommend you to stay in this hotel at all.”

“This is definitely a party hotel on the weekends - very loud and noisy in the wee hours. The rooms are small, as to be expected in this area, but very poorly lit. Phones did not work correctly at times.”

“I would not recommend this hotel as a romantic restaurant. The place is usually filled with drunk Juveniles. I love the fact that they have free drinks and complimentary passes to clubs and the location is excellent.”
