“No place to park for free. We got there at night, so I pay the meter till midnight, after that is free till 9am, so didn’t cost much, but if I have to park in a parking place could cost $15 overnight.

“This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in for a while. It is completely renovated inside and out. The rooms are spacious, with every accommodation needed. It is only 2 blocks from South Beach, and is within walking distance of any kind of restaurant or shop you can think of.”

“When we arrived to the hotel, they said that there was a problem with the air conditioning and later on we found out that there was also problems with the hot water. They made us stay in another hotel: The Chesterfield. The room we got was 10 feet away from a noisy bar that was open till 6 in the morning. We couldn't sleep in the entire night. When we asked to be moved they said that it was not possible and that it always was a problem when people stayed in that room. The hotel also had happy hour from 7 to 8 but since we were moved to another hotel we were not on the list so they didn't want to give us the drinks. Staff was rude and sometimes just plain mean to us. I wouldn't stay there again even if it were free.”

“Probably a great bar but we were renting a hotel room. The room was nice but the noise was so loud no one could sleep until 2 a.m. I know it is South beach but you literally cannot sleep. the walls are paper thin so you cannot drum out the sound. I could hear the thumping even through Bose nr headphones to the extent I could hear the words in the songs at 1 am with those headphones on. Horrible experience that was so bad that after night 1 and half of night 2 we rented another room elsewhere and just swallowed the cost. Also had to send our child elsewhere with relatives.”

“The hotel overall had a great location, but given that it was WMC, they had non-stop DJ's throughout our stay. We were rudely woken up at 10:30 am to loud house music on Sunday, after being out the night before. Daily happy hours were non feasible due to the fact that the hotel lobby was full of random people dancing. We basically used the hotel to store our stuff and shower, sleep was not possible. If this was just during WMC, I would recommend finding another hotel. Otherwise the rooms were clean, the bathroom well maintained. The staff except for one bartender, Lisa, was otherwise unfriendly. No Good Mornings or anything. Not what you expect in Miami.”

“Great hotel in the heart of South Beach, near entertainment, shops, and beach. Greatly priced for the conveniences offered.”

“It felt dirty from the minute you stepped into the hotel. The bar had several guests in residence who were parked at the bar. The non American office help had a hard time with the language. After walking on the carpeting, you felt like you needed a bath. The hallway lighting was so low; it was hard to find your room number.”

“The hotel was okay. It was a surprise stay for the person I was with and I could tell they didn't think it was all that spectacular. The hallways were very old and smelled of musk, the rooms were nothing spectacular. The best part of the room was the bathroom but it didn't even have a tub.”

“Overall, this hotel was below our expectations. It was dark & a bit seedy. The halls were so dark even in daytime, that it gave the appearance of the kind of hotel you could book by-the-hour. The rooms were also very poorly lit & the bathroom was too small even for 2 people. We booked this hotel based on the location & price, and it definitely seemed like a case of "you get what you pay for." if you are in college or early 20s and want to party until the wee hours, this is the hotel for you.”

“The environment is very uncomfortable in terms of the dim/dark light. The bar, actually in the small lobby, is very noisy so that you can hear clearly in your room. Fortunately, it closes at midnight.”

“The location of this hotel is great and I can't complain due to good price. I was able to check in early and the front desk was very helpful overall. Flooring needs updating in the room I was in and it was missing some basic amenities for a 3-star hotel. Hair dryer was gone and we didn't have the appropriate linens in the bath. I was a bit upset by them tacking on a $5 resort fee/night considering this and was able to get that removed from the bill. Comfortable bed, but a little noisy even from the 3rd floor. Hallway was very dark and rooms could use some more general lighting improvements.”

“The hotel was in a great location and I couldn't do better for the price paid. But the hotel was noisy well into the night from the do and loud music playing in the lobby. Also, not great for a business traveler as there was no internet access and no desk or chair in the room.”

“Fri. evening humid August arrival, 3rd floor off elevator, hallway had dirty maid cart and debris on carpet. Room 301 was clean, refreshing, Nice. No female cleaning staff spoke English, or so they feigned. Felt like if they SAID they did not understand you, like if you asked them for more towels they did not HAVE to go fetch anything for you... Older Hispanic females seemed to smirk when asked anything in English. I mentioned that they worked and lived in Estados Unides, therefore they should learn to speak the language (ENGLISH). Small closet to right entrance, we never used because too easy to drop all luggage and bags onto chaise and ottomans. Modern feng shui decor would do BEST with flat LCD tv instead of Holiday Inn style 13" SONY from 1999. Shower handle fell off upon touching. No ability to get Hot water until next morning. Front Desk female seemed conversational with non-guest visitors and only attentive to guest approaching the desk if you raised your voice to her. She was in the 'I'm-here-in-my-tight-black-pants-and-white-top-as-an-ornament-behind-a-front-desk mode. WATCH and LOCK you credit cards and valuables. We checked out Sunday morning minus a VISA card and Western Union money order apparently lifted from room when we went out for Saturday evening dinner 3 blocks away on Ocean. The Chelsea has great convenient location near 11nth Ave and Wahington. Just cross the street and follow 11th 2 blocks to Ocean. Great!. Nice sectional bright ORANGE sofas on front patio with covered orange canopies for outdoor sitting. Tight, but cozy.”
