“Very dated hotel, food from room service was awful, response worse. We could not contact valet or front desk from room, phone kept ringing, could not check in until after 8:30 pm due to airline cancellations, room held for pilots and flight attendants, I got a smoking room. After complaining about wait then had to move next day due to roaches, unclean bathroom & badly made bed.”

“This was at one time clearly a 5 star chain hotel which was sold to a private company and shows some wear. The refrigerator didn't work, requiring us to stock it with ice and use it as an icebox, which leaked. We received a call in the middle of the night from the "desk clerk" asking us for an imprint of our credit card, which they already had.”

“I loved Grand Bay Miami. I was on a business trip, and my husband accompanied me. The room was large and extremely comfortable. Our balcony overlooked Miami harbor. The hotel has an "old world" feeling, while having all modern conveniences. Our only complaint was a small and old TV, but we were not there to watch TV. I would definitely stay there again.”

“This hotel was run down. Our flight was in at 2a.m. when we arrived to the hotel the clerk was very rude. He said why do you want to check in now? It's in the middle of the night. We told him we didn't plan this but our flight was delayed by several hours. He kept looking at his watch and said he had to call his supervisor. So after a long day of flying we had to wait in the lobby for 30 minutes until the supervisor came to check us in. Then we were informed it would cost $27 a day to park our rental car. Our rooms were dirty. Mold and hair was in the shower and bathroom tile. Our sheets were thin and worn. The pillows were completely flat. They looked like they were from a trash can. When I sat on the coach it smelled like onions, I looked down and lettuce was coming up from underneath the cushion. I brushed it on the floor and it was still there after the maid service came in, they obviously didn't vacuumed.”

“Since we got to the hotel, he staff guy wasn't friendly at all....he answered to our petition in a mean way....and every single time we needed assistance from front office, they all were mean in their way of talking to us....NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!”

“First we had to deal with a very unfriendly staff, then endless delays to get our room, we ran into many guest with same experience. Our only pleasant experience was a very friendly manager that after long delays upgraded us to a suite. This was nice but the suite was a bit dirty, must have been top rate suite in the 80's but not one thing has been upgrade.”

“It was a very nice place & the staff was courteous, friendly and very professional. I had an issue with the loud music from the lounge on Wednesday night that we could hear in our room until 11:30 pm. On Thursday night, someone kept yelling in the hall & waking me up. Hotel security was unable to find the offender; hence they kept waking me up. In general I would say it as a very nice place which could stand an updating & except for the 2 issues mentioned, it's a very nice place.”

“This hotel has a desk check in. You walk up to a business desk where the hotel clerk is sitting down. Very slow check-in. Unusual process. Slow process. Everyone at check-in seemed young and inexperienced. Nice appearance at the main gate. Not so nice once you get to the room.”

“This was once a lovely place to stay; we have stayed there many times over twenty years. The location is great. The rooms' appointments were once beautiful but have not been replaced in years and are now worn and grimy. Cleanliness is not a priority. I still love looking at the bay from the balcony.”
