• Had a room close to elevator. Enjoyed the pool with my wife. Located close to everything I wanted.
• Close to the beach. Far away to avoid traffic. Clean and staff was helpful. No real golf package deals. Had to find my own deals. Cumbersome on short notice.

“My wife and I both enjoyed the stay. Will use Priceline again for good price reductions.”

• Convenience of parking, and comfortable beds.
• Hotel is starting to show it's age.

“We definitely got our money's worth, but it doesn't really seem like a four star resort anymore. The facilities have really been down
and the staff wasn't overly helpful like they usually are in nicer resorts.”

• Room very attractive.
• Long way from beach with no view whatsoever.

“We were very disappointed in the hotel. The room was a very long distance from the elevator and we couldn't even hear the ocean from our room. The bell staff was extremely helpful but the hotel didn't live up to our expectation or our memory. We had stayed there many years ago.”

• Clean, friendly staff, great location, nice beach area.
• Pets not allowed -- Bike rental very expensive compared to other bike rentals on the island.

• Nice rooms and bath amenities-good access to beach and good parking.
• Do not like the resort fee-do not use gym or pool.

“Nice check in-rooms were pleasant-no one around with a cart-no valet present so that was annoying. But overall a very nice experience.”

• Staff is courteous. Brella's food is good.
• Horrible value for the money, not a 4 star hotel.

“Lovely location. Grounds and area are spectacular. Value for the money is poor. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like a 3 star. the value for the $ is poor. You are charged a ridiculous resort fee daily. No lobby coffee. Room had a view of the roof and noisy parking lot. Very disappointing. Brella's food is good but so overpriced. Would come again, but probably not stay here. It was a long drive for what we got.”

• We felt like we were at a very nice place.
• Our room overlooked the roof and air conditioner. It was noisy.

“The hotel was very nice. We would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall was our balcony overlooked a big, ugly roof. We didn't get to view the resort from our room.”

• Great beach hotel.
• Resort fee of $13 per night is outrageous!

“Hotel, restaurants, location and staff all great, especially the staff. Resort fee for such things as free parking and use of the pool was an outrageous and should be included as part of the base price.”

• Decor a little dated.

“Great location. Super staff, very friendly all around. Breakfast buffet was great. Room was well appointed but a little dated and noise from adjacent rooms and hallway were noticeable. Would definitely stay here again.”

• Loved the view.
• A nasty staff member.

“I just left this hotel last week, everything was pretty nice, there was a man who was very nice to us when we were looking for someone to look at our air conditioner. We returned to our room and received a nasty call from the chief engineer, he wanted to know why we stopped an employee in the hall instead of calling the operator. I was shocked this man was rude and very nasty to me on the phone. I am writing a letter to the corporate office and will never stay at this hotel or any other Crown Plaza. The rest of the staff tried very hard to accommodate us even stating that this man had a reputation of being rude to hotel guests and was very mean and abusive to his crew and other staff members.”

• Located in the center of the island.
• Too far from the ocean--long walk.

“Hotel was somewhat older, however it was clean. The facilities were average or above. The pool and bar area was nice and clean. The only real disadvantage for the hotel was the distance of the ocean which was farther than normal for a resort.”

• Proximity to the beach and had beautiful grounds.
• The $13 resort fee seemed excessive for the privilege of parking a car.

“The hotel was in a beautiful setting fronting the beach. However, in spite of having several parking lots adjacent to it, we were unable to find a parking spot after dinner, because of a function that was taking place in the hotel. This was particularly frustrating since we were required to pay the resort fee for parking, pool, and free coffee in the room. The valet service offered to park our car in their lot for an additional $5. It was a little cool for outdoor swimming in March, so the fee seemed unjustified. The rooms were badly in need of updating. Our room had a nice view of the pool, but was a very long distance from the elevator.”

• Located within a private complex that provides a bit of privacy.
• Many parts of the hotel (bathrooms, hallways, elevators) are dated and could use some repair.

“Overall a decent quality property for Hilton Head Island. Rooms are decorated nicely and are fairly current. Our bathroom was not in the greatest of shape but was fine for the typical leisure traveler. Hotel is located in a private community/complex that requires you to obtain a gate pass. Free parking was a plus.”

• Good location.
• $13 per day resort fee for what?

“The hotel was nice enough but not altogether what I expected from a resort. It is technically oceanfront, but very far back from the ocean. I was charged an additional resort fee when I checked in and the clerk said that there was an explanation of what it included somewhere in my check in documents, but I never found it. The concierge was friendly but the response to any question was a recommendation for some facility on the premises.”
