• Ocean view.
• A bit run-down.

“If you want to be on the beach at Tybee, this is probably the best choice. Could be a lot cleaner (especially for the money), but it's not as run-down as the beachfront motels of nearby Jekyll Island. Tybee is an enjoyable place to visit, too.”

• Close to the beach.
• Hotel was not as clean as I expected.

“I would not stay at this motel again. We had other family members at the same motel. We were attending a family wedding. Everyone was complaining about the cleanliness of their rooms. Our toilet was plugged when we got there. Some of the rooms were not clean. The elevator could use some work and could be a little cleaner. The general comments were that we would not stay there again we would rent a house. The hotel cleaning people were very kind and friendly and always said good morning and goodbye. They always asked what we needed and it was there.”

• The staff was very nice and helpful with questions on where to dine.
• It was so old and outdated, bathrooms horrible and dirty all this touch up drywall everywhere.

“I would never stay here again. The hotel staff was very nice but the rooms were so old and the bathrooms scared me! and my finance. There was all this horrible touched up drywall spots everywhere and the whole hotel is very outdated and old. Stay somewhere newer you will be very thankful you did! I would not advise this hotel to anyone.”

• Convenient to beach; reasonable distance from savannah.
• Housekeeping was lacking.

“It is an older hotel. The beds were comfortable enough, but the rooms weren't in the best shape. There was a coffee pot in the room, but it was not washed the entire 4 days I was there. One day, my coffee was not replenished. I was expecting as much, based on the reviews, so I was not disappointed. I think the rate could have been better for what you get. I suppose the beach location (even though there was a parking lot between the hotel and the beach) was the justification for the rate. I will stay somewhere else next time I go. Probably a condo, even if the price is more. You get what you pay for.”

• Location, location, location. It also helped that the weather was spectacular.
• The absence of a lobby and common area certainly made the hotel feel more "roadside motel-like." also, no free wireless (or any internet connection).

“If you plan on going to Tybee island and insist on staying on the island, the ocean plaza and beach resort is likely your best option. Make sure to get an Oceanside room and enjoy the 30 second walk to the beach!”

• Clean towels.
• I have paid less for better hotels.

“I was disappointed in the hotel room. I thought I would be able to see the ocean from my room. The balcony door just had a hook to lock it, thank goodness I didn't take my kids that would have been unsafe.”

• I liked that the hotel was on the beach with easy access to the beach area.
• My room was not what I booked on line. I booked an ocean view which turned out to be a first floor room with the only view being that of a sand doom.

“The staff was very incompetent and did not seem to know what they were doing from the time I checked in. They incorrectly billed me for two rooms, which I am still trying to work out with my credit card co. The hotel itself was nice and the cleaning staff did a good job, it was the front desk staff that truly did not have a clue!!!!!”
