“This hotel was grossly misrepresented to me and the group that I was traveling with. We booked this hotel for a sports competition and had between 30 to 40 people staying at this hotel. First of all we were told that the hotel had a gift shop and a restaurant. Being that we were traveling with children and did not know the are, this was very appealing to not have to leave to try and find places to eat. Well when we checked in we found out that there was no gift shop and the restaurant, which was little more than a snack bar, was just being built and would not be opening until a week after we checked out. The hotel was dirty and dingy inside and out. Half of the elevators were not working. When we finally managed to get checked in and make it to our room, we found that our non-smoking room was actually a smoking room as was evidenced by the ashtrays on all of the tables and the horrendous smell. I specifically asked at the time that we book our reservation and when we checked in for a non-smoking room as I have asthma and my child has allergies. We got passed all this and settled in to the room. A little bit later we came to realize that we are missing about a 3 foot section of blinds for the window on the balcony. Our room had an ocean view but also faced the side of another hotel. There were definite privacy issues. When I brought this to the attention of the font desk they just looked. When I insisted that something be done about it and actually volunteered to get some additional panels from the blinds from another room, I was told that could not be allowed as each unit was individually owned. I finally, after much persuasion got them to at least send someone up to hang a blanket over the section of exposed window. We were also told that the room had a fully stocked kitchen. There were a couple of mismatch dishes and 2 forks (that's hardly stocked by my standards). We were also premised a group rate of $59.00 per room if we booked 15 rooms. We booked over 15 rooms and when the last couple of rooms were checked in, they were charged $79.00 per room and were told that the reduced rate only applied to 15 rooms and any more than that would have to pay the $79.00 dollar rate. I was not old this when I set up the group nor were the individuals told that when they reserved their rooms. Now I know why the hotel does not have any pictures of the actual hotel on it's website because if it did no one would ever book a room there. I would never stay there again.”
