• Location, excellent staff, roof top pool.
• Pool entry needs steps not ladder.

“The best thing about the Hilton Desoto in Savanna Ga are its people. From the desk, the concierge, the engineer, the parking personnel and the bellhop, we found the people to be confident, competent and kind. All were efficient and anxious to please us. With the exception of the pool's ladder the facilities were more than adequate, comfortable and clean. Even though the building is undergoing renovations the stay was perfect.”

• Staff friendly, front lobby very attractive.
• Items in review needs replacement, very overpriced for the condition of our room.

“Lamp shade coming apart, large white stain on chair arm, hairs on bathroom floor, front of toilet not clean, ice machine on 2nd floor did not work, view back corner behind pool ladders and paint buckets, was to have city view. It was our 40th wedding anniversary, thought they would have acknowledged that in some small way after the over priced room. Staff in gift shop should have better knowledge of directions. When you sit on the foot of the bed, it squeaked; needs replacing; hotel amenities needed to be replaced.”

• Staff was helpful. Room was clean.
• Parking fees were high and would have been helpful to have this information in selecting hotel.

“Nice hotel, convenient to historic area. High parking fees; would have been helpful to have this information, rather than be surprised when I arrived. Public areas were very nice. The room was acceptable with a comfy bed. I would rather have less public area and nicer rooms (baths). Stars were for public areas, not the rooms themselves.”

• The hotel was in a very convenient location in the city of Savannah for all the downtown and area sites.
• The hotel was in disarray due to renovations, none of the hotel restaurants available, bar at the pool was not opened and looked like it wasn't.

“Great location, hotel was in renovation mode and there were many amenities not available.”

• Early check-in, convenient to shopping and convenient parking.
• Needed a little updating.

“The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner buffets were very good. The location to River Street and all of it's shopping and dining made this a very convenient hotel to stay in.”

• It was in the center of what we wanted to do.
• The maids did not do their job.

“Our only problem was with the cleaning staff. I rated this hotel at 2 star because of the cleaning staff. We enjoyed the rest.”

• It was historic & in the touristy part of town.
• It has not kept up with the times hotel wise.

“The eagerness, willingness and ability of the staff made up for this hotel being rather "long of tooth." As guests we had the feeling that we were staying in a hotel that once was the jewel of the city and, to a degree, is now a faded glory.”

• Beautiful hotel.
• Room was dirty.

“When we got there, the room wasn't ready. We were told to come back in a couple of hours. The room still was not ready so they gave us another. The phone didn't work. There was coffee in cups around the room. When we turned down the bed, there was a huge wet yellow stain in the bed. We called downstairs and someone just brought us two thin sheets. My wife and daughter ended up sleeping in one bed and I slept on the floor.”

• For our needs, good location, guest services staff very helpful.
• Even 6 floors up, the street noise was too loud.

“Even though this hotel is several blocks from River Street, it is an easy and pleasurable walk through historic Savannah to the river. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.”

• The lobby and the valet parking.
• The rooms old and out dated pillows were awful bedding was old and ruff.

“On the positive side the location is great. I would not stay there again for the rooms were small the bathroom was old and the toilet ran all night. The sheets and bed cover were low thread count and very old. This was our second visit to Savannah and we will be going back again but we will not stay at the Hilton.”

• Very friendly staff, free appetizers & continental breakfast because we are Hilton members.
• Absolutely no complaints!

“Older hotel located in the Historic District of Savannah. The room was very large with a superb bed and very comfortable lounge chair and footstool, and the bathroom was huge. Everything was immaculate The staff was most accommodating.”

• Location and view.
• A bit noisy due to a malfunction of the elevator but was quickly remedied.

“Excellent. I loved the location and each room had a balcony that had a great view.”

• Location. Only 3 blocks from River St.
• Power went out in the hotel for the entire night. I was not compensated for this.

“The hotel staff was very helpful and very courteous. Was not pleased when the power went out and we were left with no air conditioning or lights for the entire night. We asked if we would be compensated for the inconvenience we were told that there will be none. Very disappointed.”

• I loved the feel of the "Tempure-Pedic" mattress. Slept like a baby.
• Limited hours of restaurant's room service. Would be nice to have 24 hour service.

“This hotel is very nice, clean, beautiful lobby. Helpful staff. Location was excellent. It was far enough away from the fast paced areas, but close enough to walk to River St. in 15 min. Close to several pubs, haunted tours. City market shopping. Definitely worth the money.”

“This hotel has been a 4-star facility. Location is great-can walk to all the attractions. We had a problem w/the tire on our vehicle and the staff was very helpful. We were excited to learn the hotel will start renovation in January 08. We will return to see the updates.”

“Good location, bathroom wasn't clean enough lots of hair on the ceiling. Had to request bathroom supplies twice before they were delivered. No luggage carts in the parking level entryway. Would not pay full price to stay here.”

• Room temperature hard to control; slow service in dining room.

“Very pleasant lobby and excellent front desk and valet service. The concierge was able to give a good deal on the Trolley Tour. We had Thanksgiving dinner in the hotel--the service was slow but the food was excellent. The slow service may be due to the holiday and being short staffed.”
