  • Family owned/operated.
  • Need more housekeeping staff.

“Family purchased/owned/operated old chain hotel - many rooms recently remodeled. The owner has added to the original hotel and now has a very large hotel. Lobby is beautifully redone with antebellum southern charm, including dual staircases. Housekeeping staff needs more people - lady on phone specifically selected us a room to meet my husband's needs while traveling for business, but when he arrived the room had not been cleaned by housekeeping. The owner was very perplexed by this and let my husband choose from several other rooms - we ended up with what I would describe as a standard 'business class king' room right off the lobby. The breakfast room was across the hall with standard fare - cereal, bagels, coffee, juice (no hot foods). The building is obviously old and it looks like they have been working on it themselves - i.e. stucco patches are uneven, but neatly painted, etc - not a professional patch job as it shows, but the usual do-it-yourself job. Hotel is located right off the interstate, with easy access to travel around Columbia, through town, and dining is right down the road from 'country cooking' restaurants to 'gourmet steak houses'. There are a lot of people staying at the hotel, as there are four buildings of rooms ranging from extended stay suites to business class standard rooms. Best room rates can be located through the internet.”

  • I disliked everything about this hotel but the ease of finding it.

“This was obviously an older hotel. But older hotels can be clean. This hotel was dirty, dingy and smelly. Our non-smoking room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. The desk staff was friendly and helpful, but we saw the other hotel employees smoking pot while sitting poolside. Speaking of the pool, the filter was not working. One last complaint: the continental breakfast was horrible. Very limited selection and there was spilled food and milk everywhere. The tables remained dirtied by the previous diners. I would not stay here again. My advice: STAY AWAY!”

  • Unbelievably friendly, not fancy but just what we wanted.
  • Jacuzzi out of service

“We came down for the Masters and we were treated royally. This will be the first place that we will try to re-book for the coming years. Staff was the whole key. Customer service was top notch.”
