• It was very clean.
• It was hot and muggy.

“The first room I was sent to had a hole in the door. The small hole were the peep hole is did not have the hardware in it and so you could see into the room. I called down for another room and she asked me to come back down and she would fix it. Well, I was alone and my arms were loaded so I asked her to send someone up with a new key. She did and he helped me to my new room.During my stay the tv would periodically turn to black and white. The air conditioner was very loud and was either too cold or not cold enough. I was constantly adjusting to find a good setting. The hotel itself was very warm and muggy, almost sticky even. The breakfast was a very nice buffet, all-you-can-eat, however it was $8.99. I would prefer less to choose from if it could be free. There was a Cracker Barrel across the street and I would prefer to go there and even pay less.All in all about the only thing I can say good about the hotel is that it was ultra clean, which is a huge plus. Even given all the other little things that went wrong I would go back because it was perfectly clean. Clean is a huge priority to me.”

• The staff is very friendly.
• There was a very loud prom and you could hear the music late at night.

“We love to stay at this hotel when we visit Gastonia. The staff has consistently been friendly over the past 5 years.”

• Clean, good TV channels, extra pillows, lobby munchie station & mellow environment.
• My heater in my room was loud, almost complained.

“Good area, near mall, different food places close, quiet, low key, good lighting in parking lot- make reservation cause they book up frequently & 1/10th mile off interstate- no free breakfast only draw-back.”

• The buffet breakfast was reasonably priced, and kids were free!
• No CD player in the room.

“The room was reasonably spacious, with two queen beds. Floor space was sufficient to set up two pack and plays for our children. The room was clean and welcoming. The wait staff at the breakfast buffet was very helpful, bringing me food for my two little ones so I wouldn't have to leave them alone. .”

“The courtyard Marriott is a fairly new hotel with balconys, its 1 blk from the mall, 2 restaurants in front of hotel, and several in walking distances. I loved my stay at this hotel.”

• Room noise between adjoined rooms.

“I've had several stays here and have been very pleased with the accommodations and staff. This time however I ended up in a room with the adjoining door to a room next door. I can't fault the hotel for the noise of the kids but I would recommend against a room with an adjoining door. Other than that, great staff and great beds.”

“I've had several great stays at this hotel, but this time I did get the room with the loud ac/heater. I've read about this particular one in other reviews. Other than the room 104 AC, the hotel is in a nice location with several nice restaurants within walking distance, safe feel to the location, and nice staff.”

“When I checked in, front desk staff was very polite, professional, & welcoming. Once again, the beds are great here. The fitness room equipment is well maintained and all the equipment functions as you would expect. The only thing I could think of that would have made the stay better would be a more than once-a-week guest reception in the lobby.”

• The bedding was wonderfully comfortable.
• Only one, lobby reception.

“The hotel staff was friendly and did not mind giving information/directions to me when I explained I had not been in this area before. The bedding was great! Very comfortable. I am used to having multiple 'after-5pm' receptions during the week at other hotels and was surprised that this location only did one on Tuesday night. Other than that, great experience and will stay here again.”

• I liked the decoration and the comfortable beds. The shower was heavenly. The staff was extremely good, relaxed friendly and helpful.
• The breakfast was mostly good, but the eggs in the buffet were very bad rubbery and bland.

“We really enjoyed our trip to the hotel. It is in a very convenient location beside the highway and right across the road from some restaurants with great food. The room was well maintained and the bed was comfortable. In short, this is not a luxury hotel, but it is well maintained, attractively decorated and a very pleasant place to stay.”

• Very clean, modern, comfortable room.
• Silly to charge money for the usual continental breakfast fare, we went to waffle house instead.

“I was very pleasantly surprised by the upscale-atmosphere and quality of the hotel for the price and the star-rating. It did not feel like your average business-sterile hotel. Very comfortable beds. The one thing that struck me as unusual was that the very ordinary continental breakfast was an extra charge.”
