• The rooms were large,great beds and pillows!
• The Friday night seafood buffet.

“We had a difficult time finding the hotel as mapquest was wrong. Called 3 times during our drive to get directions. Rooms were great-we loved the beds and pillows!”

• It has a great view and friendly staff.
• The bathroom was dingy and needed cleaning.

“Holiday on the Hill is probably the best you'll find in Bluefield. It's got a view, a nice cafe, and very friendly staff. The only thing it lacked was regular size pillows, curtains that shut all the way, and a clean bathroom. Curtains and bathroom was a major thing for us.”

• Very nice looking.
• The bed looked like it had been slept in and something dark had been dripped along the box springs. Mold in shower.

“At first glance the room looked nice but the pillowslips had stains like someone had used them and the one bed had sheets that appeared to have been used. The shower had mold and dirt. I did not want to use it.”

• Directions received from map quest did not match directions to motel.

• I couldn't get the internet to work with my lap top.

• Room was not clean.

“I have had better experiences at this hotel. During this stay, my hotel room was not cleaned at all. There was garbage in the hallway that was not taken out. Additionally, I asked for a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room that smelled terrible.”

• Clerk that checked us in was more interested in visiting with her boyfriend.

• Close to our destination.
• Prices too high for this lower rated motel.

“The bathroom was cramped. It was a double bed room which would indicate more than one person will be there. Need to have the sink/mirror, etc outside the bathroom to help accommodate more than one person. Our beds were comfortable, but for the price we felt we should have had a microwave/refrigerator in our room.”

• Fairly clean, but very basic.
• It is hard to find off the main highway, route 77, although doable.

“Nice hotel for a quick stop. This hotel has a pool and staff is friendly. It is clean, but I would not seek it out again.”

• Very courteous staff. Helpful in every way.
• Bathrooms could use a little updating but this certainly did not interfere with the comfort of the hotel.

“This hotel is very conveniently located in the Bluefield Princeton area of west Virginia. Very helpful staff and the hotel surroundings far exceed any of the alternatives in the immediate neighborhood. Standard hotel restaurant fare served pleasantly too. You won't be disappointed!”

• We have stayed there several times and will continue to do so. We enjoyed our stay.
• The spray that is used to freshen the room is too strong. We have trouble breathing in any hotel room. They all use too much spray.

“The employees are very helpful and friendly. We have been staying there whenever we visit our family in Bluefield for the past year. It is the best place we have stayed in that area! I would suggest that they get some new furnishings. The furniture is getting worn.”

• Exceptionally courteous staff at front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant. Accepts pets.
• No elevator. 2nd floor room with arm loads of stuff. Glad we did not bring our small child and all of her stuff.

“Restaurant offered great food at a reasonable price. No other restaurants in immediate proximity to hotel so we decided to eat there. No elevator. Must use key card for external doors 24 hours a day. That was a hassle when my husband forgot his key somewhere. Parking got to be a problem Saturday night because the hotel had 3 large parties going on in the banquet facilities. Hotel accepts pets but rooms are cleaned well enough that you can not tell if pets were ever in the rooms. Older hotel. Fitness center was adequate and had a nice sauna that we used. Outdoor pool was closed for the season. Wireless network access in rooms.”

• Location was good and front counter personnel were friendly and helpful.
• Lounge entertainment was poor along with the service and attitude of employees.

“Hotel is decent for leisure travel or business. Rooms are fine and clean. Motel in general is overpriced. The worst part is that there is a nice lounge area that is not utilized /managed as it should. Management/Sales management had very poor attitudes that were not customer friendly.”

• The front desk was very accommodating The people working there were very friendly.
• The restaurant service was very poor.

“The restaurant staff was sitting and standing around a nearly booth while we ate dinner, all looking at something on a laptop. This was the first night for our waitress, and no one was helping her with our order. So she understandably kept making mistakes. We chose this hotel because we were tired and wanted to eat at our hotel. I would not repeat the choice.”

• Older hotel - needs updates - same dirty furniture as two years ago. Cigarette smoke is strong in hallways.

• The view was awesome It is kid friendly as well as pet friendly. It was all that we needed and more.
• Quite a bit of walking from your room to your car.

“Excellent hotel. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean. Large TV. and great heated pool. The kids were able to swim even though it was a little cool outside. The beds were great and the room was very large. We had a wonderful time. This was our first experience. WE will definitely do it again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.”
