• Great location - easy walk to the historic district and close to major routes.
• The rooms smelled musty/moldy.

“The staff
is friendly and helpful. Pool area is very clean. Hotel rooms are located at the back of the hotel, away from the road, and are quiet. Good value for money.”

• Nice pool and common areas.
• The room smelled like mildew right when we walked in.

“Location is great! Very close to the DO's of St. Augustine. Location is very convenient to Historic Downtown, Vilano Beach, and St. Augustine Beach. Dining and attractions are fabulous and close.”

• Denny's in hotel was good for breakfast with kids.
• The carpet was disgusting. Our feet were black almost immediately.

“Since the carpet was so dirty, it made us feel the rooms were very unclean overall. Our feet and socks were black within 5 minutes of entering the room.”

• When we needed more towels, they were quick and nice about it.
• The maid did leave a sticker on the lamp shade, and we could not get one of the lamps to turn off.

“I was pleased with the hotel. When we needed something, they got it for us. There was one lamp that we had to unscrew the bulb, because the switch didn't work. But, other than that, we had a good time there.”

• The proximity to downtown, "space making" shower, rod in tub, nice bed spreads, tons of pillows.
• Shoddy bathroom tile job. Doesnt provide conditioner for the hair, ice machine broken.

“Average double occupancy. Decent price for the area and time of year. Lots of attractions nearby, walking distance. Denny's on premises. The room safes were very nice to have, and we were provided with lots of nice new pillows. The room was clean and the a/c was cold.”

• It is run down and carpets were extremely dirty especially in the room.

“The over all service was good. The place needs more maintenance and up keep. The carpet in the room was so filthy that my white socks were black after walking on it. This was the worst job I have ever seen as far as up keep.”

• There was a Denny's.
• No hot water, No swimming pool working, pub in the hotel

“The staff was not very helpful on friendly. Had to wait for them to get off the phone for them to help me. Didn't program the keys right the 1st time. The pool was being fixed-should have said something on the web site. They put our room over a pub and I have a small child. There was no hot water any of the days we were there. If I could have left I would have the first night. They did live up to the 2 star rating.”

• All linens were old and stained. Sheets were old and rough. Towels were yellow from lack of bleach or because they were too old.

“Upon arrival, because we got there after midnight, we had to check in through a glass proof window. The gentleman was very nice and helped us efficiently The room smelled as if someone had smoked before in there and it was not a smoking room. The hotel is old with that in mind I have to say that the surroundings and the furniture were not that bad. However, the linens were very old and stained. The towels were super thin and yellow from lack of clorox in the wash. The sheets were rough and itchy. The majority of the pillow cases were stained with make up. I would definitely recommend this hotel be renovated ASAP. It has a great location and definitely potential to improve the revenues. The rooms definitely need renovation. The hallways need painting and the overall property is in desperate need of additional and brighter lights. All linens should be replaced with percale sheets and 100% cotton towels. Air freshener should be part of the housekeeping standards.”

• molded walls, poor complimentary continental breakfast, unconcerned staff

“The decor in this hotel was really nice, compared to some of the other chains, but the walls in the ground floor room where we stayed was mold city. There was so much mold on the walls I thought it was part of the wall treatment until the black stuff soiled the pillow cases. After close examination my husband and I discovered it was definitely mold. We had no contact with the staff other than at check in and out. Stayed the night and got out of there, early. Upon check-out we expected, as customary, to be asked about our accomodations, but we were not. Poor customer service. We will never stay there again.”
