  • The Hotel was very clean and nice the atmosphere was very nice and the personnel were very friendly & helpful.
  • The only thing we found dislikeable was the softness of the mattresses & the fact that there were supposed to be firm pillows but none were available.

“Very nice overall.”

  • The location along the river was outstanding.
  • Paid a little extra for a river view and there really wasn't one.

“I had made a last minute booking for the holiday inn and was very pleased by the service I was given. Someone was always right there to help me with my bags when I was checking in or checking out. The front desk was prompt and friendly and told me everything I needed to know to make my stay comfortable and complete. The only things that I had any problem with were that the up button didn't work on floor 4. Otherwise it was a near perfect stay. And I am taking an extended vacation traveling from city to city staying in a variety of hotels, motels, and inns. I am getting to see first hand many different name companies. In my three weeks thus far, the Holiday Inn ranks number 1.”

  • Beautiful view of the city. Bar and restaurant excellent.
  • Parking in the garage was tough.

“The staff was excellent! Chris up in the restaurant and JJ down in lobby bar very friendly and helpful. Was only supposed to stay one night ended up staying 2. The view from my room was just excellent. Everything in walking distance. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.”

  • Absolutely nothing.
  • The whole deal.

“I had trouble from the moment I arrived. Their parking garage isn't large enough to hold a booked hotel; the person working the booth instructed me to go around the block and park in courthouse parking which was not only convenient, but I had to pay. I asked for reimbursement when I checked in at the front desk since I was instructed to park there. I was told that I should have just waited; a spot would have opened up. I paid to park out of pocket and then had to move my car later that night to their garage so I could unload, which I ended up paying for again. The rooms were horrible; mold in the shower and on the windows. During a 2 day stay, I was stuck in their elevator on 3 separate occasions. The elevator in the parking garage had the certification paper displayed but it expired 7 years ago! The papers were not displayed in the 3 elevators in the hotel itself, but they were not up to par by any means. I would have gladly taken the stairs in the hotel, but they were not accessible from ground level. The stairs at this hotel are for emergency exits only and cannot be accessed from the lobby. You can, however, come down the stairs from your floor, but since the stairs don't come into the lobby, you end up coming out in a nasty, dirty parking lot. Not impressive! Anyway, this hotel is considerably overpriced and I'm not sure where the two-star rating came from. I've stayed in several 1 star hotels in Charleston that make this hotel look like the Projects.”

  • It was quiet.
  • Room was not as ordered, tub didn't drain.

“I ordered a smoking room with a river view, got a view of a parking lot and buildings. Our tub took about an hour to drain for the second person to take a bath. There was a long walk and 2 separate elevators from your car to your room.”

  • The staff of was very friendly.
  • The elevators and the toilet did not work properly.

“I thought that I was going to a nice hotel and it turned to be a disgusting dump. I had no choice to stay there because I had already paid for the room. What a waste of money.”
