“We enjoyed our week at the Galleon. Location! Location! Location! is a big plus. Located on the historic Key West Seaport, it is only a short walk to most Key West attractions, Duval Street and many fine restaurants. I cannot think of a better location in Key West. The staff was courteous and the unit was very clean with one exception, the bathtub. The bathtub could have used a good scrubbing and the hot water handle was black inside the plastic. For this reason we did not make use of the Jacuzzi tub except to take showers. The water temperature was also hard to regulate. You had to be cautious not to get scalded. Scald resistant water valves (Common in most hotels) would be a good idea. The in-unit washer and dryer is a plus and the bed was very comfortable. Everything outside of the bathtub was in good working order and the unit was well equipped. We enjoyed the pool and the afternoon bingo was enjoyed by most who were present at the pool and was a good crowd mixer. There were always plenty of towels and the pool and surrounding area were impeccably clean. True, the beach is not much, but then, Key West is not a beach town. We also enjoyed the Tiki bar and the entertainment. The staff was also very courteous, although they do rush you out of your room on check-out day so that they can ready the suite for the next guests. Because the Galleon is sold, although there are a couple of resale agents on the premises who subtly make their presence know, there is no high-pressure sales force who nag you to listen to sales presentations. The property offers internet access for a fee. I thought that this was a bit of a nickel and dime of the guests. Most timeshare resorts I have been to, have offered internet access as a complimentary amenity. It would not be expensive to install a wireless router and a couple of computers in the lobby (or another room) that guests can use to access the internet. Overall, we would return to the Galleon without hesitation.”
