“Anyone staying here should be forewarned that there are protected roosters around the hotel and they will be be very noisy at night with their high-pitched sound which can be heard throughout the area. If you want to sleep at night and wake up refreshed, I suggest you go somewhere else as staff can not do anything about them. Furthermore, the Manager has an attitude when told you are not able to sleep because of the roosters.”

“Unfortunately, our stay was less than what we would expect for Marriott standards as we were unable to sleep due to constant rooster screeches in the mid morning of 05/04/08 from 3 a.m. to 08:00 a.m. If you are a nature lover and don't care to listen to loud rooster sounds, then the Courtyard Marriott in Key West is for you. But if you suffer of light sleep and are a business traveler needing to be fully awake for the next day's meetings, then maybe you should look somewhere else as this hotel is surrounded by loud roosters which are protected in Key West. The rooms were clean, the staff tried to be helpful but don't rub the manager wrong way as she can be rude and non-empathizing towards the customer's needs. The Manager was less than sympathetic to our complaints of being unable to sleep and basically told us that is the way it is in Key West; furthermore, she went on to say that she didn't know where we were from but we had to accept what came with the territory as she also had to live with it. She also suggested we have something against Key West. I have stayed many times in Key West in many other hotels and have had no problems in sleeping. If I had had an attitude with Key West I wouldn't have gone back again this time. For the rate we paid, both my friend and I would have expected a better treatment from the manager and not to be ridiculed but rather be empathized. I received no apology at any moment of time but rather an extremely defensive and upset streak. Future customers should be foreword that roosters come with their stay in the Courtyard Marriott. In summary, definitely overpriced; however, staff did try to be very helpful (except for the Manager) and the rooms were clean with the exception of one or two termites we encountered on our bathroom sink. Apart from the roosters, the location is ok but it comes without sleep unfortunately. I hope this helps!”

“This place was great. I had a wonderful experience. The girls at the front desk were amazing and made me feel like family. They were very well knowledge and very attentive to our needs. The pool and property was beautiful. I checked at the Days Inn and Radisson before the Courtyard and I am glad I chose this place. Don't be so fast to throw in a negative comment. They guys work hard and deserve a pat on the back.”

“Despite the location (not within walking distance of the main areas of the central area of Key West), it was convenient to drive to the Trolley Tour, park for free, and get into KW where we could get off at any of ten stops, get back on, see a lot of the main areas, and get back to the starting point (and our car). It helped to have the car to drive around town and get to restaurants for dinner and breakfast.”

“Unfortunately all lodging is expensive in Key West. I would suggest staying just north of Key West.”

“I felt that the quality of this hotel was beyond that of a 2 1/2 star rating. The rooms were nicely decorated and large. The pool area was great.”

“This hotel is 3.5 miles from downtown but the pool, outside grille, and bar easily make up for any inconvenience of not being in the heart of the downtown action. We were told the rooms were going to be remodeled in March 2005 and we look forward to a return visit. Friendly staff and we enjoyed our outdoor breakfast in the grille.”

“Quality was less than I would expect from Marriott, day staff was not particularly responsive, promised in-room wireless did not work; although lobby was attractive, room was more like Motel-6.”
