Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Location, pool and pool staff, beach access. Friendly staff.
  • Rooms not maintained, hotel area is becoming rundown.

“Hotel is not being maintained adequately. It could be a lovely place to stay, but the lights did not work properly, or the plug ins, the balcony had the ac vented onto it, it was way too hot to even use. I personally have stayed at budget motels that have been far better maintained. We did enjoy our stay because we had an open mind and wanted r and r by the pool, which we had, and enjoyed. If someone was looking for a 4 star resort, this would definitely not be adequate.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[3] • Location:[6]

  • The pier was nice.
  • I did like the $14 resort fee & $10 parking fee That's an extra $24 per day . This hotel was not resort quality.

“This resort is ugly compared with other resort's in Key's. Construction next door and repair work at the Reach woke us up at 8am.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[5]

  • Friendly staff, good location.
  • A lot of things were old and breaking. Our pull out coach was horrible. The closet door did not close. There was some mold in the bathroom.

“It was okay but I definitely would not pay rack price for this. I was also surprised there was an additional $14.00 "Resort Fee" added to each day. The beach which was supposed to be the nicest on the island was full of seaweed and smelled bad.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Private beach, close to Duval.
  • Parking fee, resort fee, unknowledgeable staff, hard to find room/elevators.

“This hotel was ok, the room was adequate, about what I expected. the beach/pool area was beautiful. However the staff on the beach were only marginal, not very friendly at all. It was close to Duval street, about 2 blocks away from the south side of Duval street. I stayed in a room next to an area where they were remodeling a different building but wasn't affected by the noise. myself and quite a few other guests I noticed had difficulties finding their room and the elevators to the room. The hotel is kind of like a maze, easy to get lost in. Overall, not a bad hotel, but not a great one, certainly not what I imagined a resort in key west to be.”

“A lovely resort. The beach is nice and the staff is friendly. The restaurants were expensive and the Beach Bar was grossly over priced. The rooms were showing there age.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • private resort with pool and private beach that was not overbooked. Could always find own space without feeling crowded.
  • No business service and charged $9.95 per day for in room Internet. Had to go to affiliated hotel down road for access to printer.

“Rooms are nice, outer hotel could use a face lift Was satisfied for the price and would return to hotel again for another stay.”

  • Its a dump.
  • Needs repair.

“The hotel is falling apart. The parking garage has standing water and falling concrete The valet parking is a rip off. Its dump that was dropped by the national brands and now is local run. Not a resort, Motel 6 is better.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[3] • Location:[5]

  • It has one of the only beaches in Key West.
  • Too expensive for a hotel that is falling apart.

“This hotel should be priced at around 85-100 dollar range. Although the hotel will undergo a renovation of 27 million dollars, its current state does not warrant the high price. Here are a couple of things that are wrong: showers too small (think about showering inside a coffin), the a/c is too loud even on the low setting, the hotel is in disarray, dirty and old. I would recommend anyone that is considering this hotel to book the Hilton instead.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • Location on the beach.
  • Hotel under much needed construction.

“I would not call this hotel a Resort, because in my mind that is 5 Stars +, it was more like a 3.5 Star. The hotel lacked the amenities that I would have expected at a "Resort" like a full gym/spa. If you just want a hotel on the beach and don't require much else, then this is fine; but if you are spending big money thinking you are staying at a 5 Star resort on the beach you will be very disappointed.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[1] • Location:[10]

  • Beautiful Beach Resort, Beautiful pool and setting.
  • Poor condition, Many things broken, Tired room, Tired decor, Waited an 1 1/2 hours for the shuttle, never showed up, 4 calls, it will be there in 15.

“Hotel is at a good location, beautiful beach and pool. Poor condition, dirty, tired rooms, Many things broken, Remote and no coffee maker. Free Shuttle never showed up at the airport in 1 1/2 hour. Called many times and kept being told it would be there in 15 minutes, finally took a $17.00 cab, Front desk didn't care, no apology. Could be a beautiful hotel, but needs a total make over. A walk in, got a lower rate than our "Special Rate" and was put on a higher floor!”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The private beach was beautiful and very well-maintained. I wish I could have spent more time there! The staff was incredibly helpful and nice!
  • The room was not very clean and the hotel as a whole was pretty run-down and did not meet my expectations.

“We had a great time on the beach and in the pool. The location of the resort is great. However, the room was not very clean, and we had to walk around the whole building (in sweltering weather) to reach the elevators and back. We woke every morning to jackhammers and sawing -- construction is going on right next to many of the rooms; are they building a new resort? There is also construction in the parking garage which makes it very difficult to navigate (not to mention LOUD) and yet they still charge $10/day for parking a vehicle. There is nowhere else to park. The lobby is very difficult to locate when you first check-in. Also the rooms do not have amenities that I would expect in a resort such as a mini-fridge, microwave, or a coffeemaker. Ridiculous. Overall this "resort" is really not worth the price tag. It was our honeymoon and I really wish we had chosen to stay at one of those smaller inns!”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Quiet side of the island.
  • Major construction going on in the parking garage and building adjacent to hotel. Dusty and noisy.

“Beach is so crowded you feel like you are on Coney Island. Pool is very small and also crowded. First room was horrible. Could hear jack hammers below due to construction. When I complained, Manager was very nice moved us to the other side of the hotel with a partial ocean view.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and overlooked the ocean.
  • Major construction taking place outside resort made for a noisy vacation.

“We enjoyed our vacation resort immensely, aside from the mess of garage repair and construction noise next door. Staff was friendly and helpful. Private beach was exquisite with umbrellas and chairs provided. We felt pampered when we were outside. I wish every hotel had such nice rooms.”

  • Resort beach was nicely located, with a Caribbean Flare. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
  • It did not interfere with our weekend stay, there was some major construction repairs underway during the week.

“It was a comfortable and nicely decorated Hotel, convenient to all the attractions in Key West.”

  • location was good.
  • Handicap room did not have good running water in bathroom splashed everywhere. Did not have higher toilet.

“One room was not ready said would be ready in half hour would come and get luggage in the room we were waiting. Forgot about us for over 2 hours and then had to call back again to get luggage transferred. Gave us $100 credit for breakfast because of water problem in room.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Located on beach.
  • Sofa Bed smelled like urine.

“While I heard The Reach Resort was supposed to be an up class hotel, it didn't look like it. They have been purchased by another company and are going through growing pains. The room was nice enough. However, we had a need to use the sofa bed. The hotel staff made it up for us while we were out to dinner. When I got into it that night, I smelled a funny odor. It was urine. I thought it was just the sheets, and called the housekeeping staff to address it. I smelled the mattress and cushions and it was the whole sofa. Someone must have wet the bed and either not told the staff, or the staff did not remove it once notified. I had to sleep on a very uncomfortable twin sized roll away bed. In the morning, we went to get a bottle of water from the mini bar, and the mini bar wasn't even turned on. However, the resort had a resort fee it charges in addition to the regular room rate but thought was too expensive, I recommend that hotel.”

  • Room is great. The private beach is beautiful. Kayak rental prices are low. The pier is very large. Beach cafe has great food and drinks.
  • There is an additional $14.00 per day resort fee. The hotel is a maze. Parking lot currently under construction.

“The room was great. Colorful and equipped. Nicely decorated. The private beach is beautiful and the sand is nice and clean. Kayak rental prices are only $15 per 1/2 hour and was fun. The pier is very large and nice. The beach cafe has great food and tropical drinks average priced for key west, which is high at the local restaurants. The hotel is walking distance from Duval street but opposite side of the island from Mallory square but a $10.00 cab ride with tip got us to Mallory square. I would recommend to friends and family.”

“Very enjoyable experience overall.”
