“I knew going in that you had to pay for internet access in your room ($10/night) but I figured I would use the business center to get directions and information. There was one working computer in the business center and it cost $6/20min to use the internet. Add the fact that there was no free continental breakfast and no restaurants close except the ones on site and this hotel is not 3 star in my book, had a much better experience in a 2 1/2 star Marriot.”

“Recently renovated and it shows. The hotel was immaculate! In fact, if you closed your eyes upon entering the lobby the hotel could easily have been in a big city. Room was spacious and well appointed. Room service and restaurant food were of good quality. Great southern hospitality. Central Downtown Spartanburg location.”

“Good location and beautiful facility. Slow attention to details. Broken chair reported; slow service to be recognized by staff in bar and slow service in restaurant. Good food, but so cold by the time it was delivered to the table. We observed it sitting to be delivered for 6 minutes before server picked it up. Restaurant was not busy at the time - we were one of 4 occupied tables.”

“This hotel has it all. Fantastic value for the money the Spartanburg Marriott is like stepping into the old Grandeur of large Luxury Accommodations with and imposing exterior and a beautiful large lobby. The restaurants and the lounges are first class. The rooms are luxurious without being stuffy great place for a romantic get away or just a super family friendly stay far from the average chain motels all along the highway.”

“I was upgraded from the Courtyard which I wanted. I could not use my computer since I would not pay the $9.95 to hook up in the room. The facility was fine but I would not go back and am very unhappy to have stayed there.”

“The hotel was ok. Staff stated has 2 queen doubles. What is a queen double? My feet hung off the end of the bed. Mattress was very hard. Lipstick was on drinking glasses. Never drink from hotel drinking glasses.”

“I have stayed at the Marriott in Greenville, SC on occasion and enjoyed my stay there much better. The atmosphere is more pleasant, the service impeccable, and the facilities you would expect from this caliber of hotel (indoor pool, hot tub). Also, poor service in the restaurant at a very un-busy time. Food was very good. Even though had late check-out approved and privacy notice on door, the cleaning crew still bothered us at an early and inconvenient time.”

“This is a beautiful, new, upscale hotel, which seems to be perfect for business meetings. That said, the main entrance is so hard to spot that I drove past it each time I returned to the hotel, and I know the area.”

“Everything was excellent, but I do a lot of my work on my computer and need an internet connection. It was a disappointment not to have free Wi-Fi. When I have stayed in lower star level hotels they have provided this service.”

“Hotel was lovely, clean and pleasant. Room was beautiful, lobby nice as well. One hotel staff member stopped another from checking us in and made us wait in the lobby even though there were rooms available. This was the only hiccup in our experience.”

“Hotel was nicely situated in Spartanburg with clean rooms, nice pool and lounge area. I did not like the idea of having to pay for internet service. All hotels that rank 2.5 or higher should award this to all customers. Most 2.0's do so for free in addition to a much cheaper overnight rate.”

“Since it is downtown, this was not a particularly convenient location off I-26. In it's segmenting of the areas of town. Hotel was typical of a full Marriott hotel - more geared toward business travel but nice rooms. I definitely found the lack of substantive draperies annoying though.”

“The side entrance was without any signs saying where the main entrance and registration was, leaving us to look at floor plans and trying to figure out where to go. Location made us decide to stay in the building for the evening.”
