• Stayed there before. Should have paid attention to location offered.

“This is not one of the hotels that I would recommend. The place is a dive suitable only as an inexpensive stay for families attending Cedar Point.”

• Able to check out 5 minutes after check inn (no charge).
• Pretty much everything else. Sticky floors dirty walls and carpets.

“This hotel (sad excuse for a motel) was terrible. Close to the Cedar point but surrounding area is not family friendly or pleasant. Best part was the lady at the front desk who let us check out 5 minutes after checking inn with no charge. Carpets, walls were filthy the bathroom floor was sticky and the windows would not close properly (or lock). Not impressed. The virtual tour was very misleading. Would not ever stay here had to check out immediately after check in.”

• It was extremely dirty!

“I will never stay at this hotel again. The room was dirty, the towels were paper thin, the bathroom water smelled like vinegar. Even the walls were dirty with stains. The room furniture was beat up and the carpet was filthy. I was with my wife and 2 children and I was afraid to let my kids touch anything! I am glad that we only went to our room to sleep after a full day at Cedar Point. We thought that because the hotel was so close to Cedar Point that we may stop at the room for a break and dinner, but we never did because of the room condition. We chose this hotel because of its closeness to Cedar Point, but next time I will gladly drive further from the amusement park for cleanliness!”

“The hotel was in a convenient location to Cedar Point. It was nice to have complimentary wireless in the room and the breakfast was more than a continental. Bed was hard, walls and floors were dirty.”

“Hotel was nice for 1 night stay for those going fishing on Lake Erie or those going to Cedar Point in the morning or stay over after going to Cedar Point. I would not stay more than one night as it was not a very plush hotel. But for the price and purpose it was fine. Rooms were clean although it did smell like our room had a bottle of pinesol spilled in it.”

“It needs to be updated. Fixtures are old, paint and tile were worn. It had a mini kitchen with brown stove from the 70's (ugly) Breakfast was skimpy, no orange juice, muffins or fruit.”

• They couldn't tell by the computer if the room had even been cleaned.

• Narrow halls & staircases, crowded feeling.

• The location was great in relation to cedar point.
• The carpet and quality of the bathroom was not in line.

“The room that we stayed in was directly next to the maids room. The maids were loud at 8 in the morning waking up my entire family and creating a situation that soured our entire experience at the hotel. I will never stay there again.”

• Rooms were older, could hear neighbors, not in nicest part of town.

“Overall stay was pleasant, though hotel was older with few outstanding amenities. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was very nice. The pool was also nice.”

• Dirty and not what I expected from a Comfort Inn franchise.

“I really have nothing nice to say. Unfortunately, I was embarrassed that I had booked this hotel. My family was so excited about this get away weekend. Good thing that Cedar Point was fun, it compensated for the sad hotel experience.”

• Convenience of location, friendly staff.
• Not the best neighborhood, pool heater broken, amenities weak.

“The Comfort Inn Maingate is conveniently located just about a mile from Cedar Point. The hotel has an Olympic sized swimming pool which would have been very nice for our stay, but unfortunately the pool heater was broken and the recent rains made the pool quite cool, too chilled to swim in for long. The continental breakfast offered included hot waffles, and a pleasant assortment of fruit, cereals and pastries. The rooms were clean, although the majority was smoking rooms which were obviously used heavily by smokers. The staff was very friendly. There was a game room and a not overpriced drink and snack station. Overall the experience was very satisfactory.”

• The lady at the front desk was nice. The lobby was clean and looked nice.
• Was not a nice attractive hotel as described, but a motel and dirty.

“I expected a lot out of this hotel, because of the name, Comfort Inn. We found a dirty, wet, towel on the bathroom floor from the night before.”
