• It was great to have a kitchenette in the room so I didn't have to spend money on going out to eat.
• The stairways smelled like the garbage cans.

“I was bothersome because some of the other reviewers said they found this hotel dirty. Some of the main public areas were obviously being used by the people staying there but were clean for a heavily used area. The stairways smelled a little like the garbage in the trash cans found there. That was the worst of it. And in the evenings there didn't seem to be as many hotel staff working. My room was good and clean and comfortable and the kitchenette was a great addition that made the stay worth it because I didn't have to spend any money on going out to eat. For the price this hotel was sufficient. It was more understandable that the hotel might be considered a little dirty because people actually live there or stay for extended periods of time so there is constant activity in certain areas of the building, like the laundry room, for example, no biggie.”

“I wasn't satisfied with the room cleanliness. I was put on a smoking floor with a room that was moved to non-smoking, if they run out of non-smoking, that is just what they do. Not what I wanted my kids to sleep in.”

• The hotel is 5 minutes from the freeway and has laundry facilities.
• I got lost because it is not located on the main street rather a side street and around several buildings.

“The staff was very helpful and nice. It is very close to the freeway and has laundry services. I had a good experience with this hotel.”

• Kitchen was a convenience.
• They were unable to get our rooms correct.

“We ordered two rooms and specified we needed King sized beds in both rooms. We also called several times to verify that these rooms were together, each time being told yes they were. When we arrived, not only did we only receive rooms with Queen sized beds, but the two rooms were on different floors. We were able to get one room moved to the same floor, but they were still on opposite ends of the hallway.”

• I got out alive and wasn't robbed.
• Unclean room, dangerous area, limited sleeping options.

“The Extended Stay Columbus North was the worst hotel I have ever been to. We ended up checking out as soon as we saw the room due to the poor cleanliness. The food used by the former hotel guests was still in the fridge. The overpowering odor of air freshener masked something else in the room. We had only two single beds or one double bed only for our family of four. We were solicited for money as soon as we opened the door to our car and had to make our way through a small crowd of people and their pets smoking and drinking outside the room.”

• Location was convenient in North Columbus area and price reasonable.
• Air conditioner did not work in 90 degree heat. Changed rooms at 6 AM, as nobody was at the desk any sooner. Charged for internet. Not a 3 star.

“Hotel was clean but air conditioner did not work and I did not realize until middle of night when the room would not cool off after getting in late. Nobody at desk overnight so I changed rooms at 6 AM. I should have pressed for compensation as I got no sleep at all that night. Also wanted to charge for internet service which I think is wrong. New room was fine and a value for the area. Location was convenient in the Columbus North area. This particular hotel chain does not change towels/sheets daily unless you bring them to front desk.”

• It was a very clean hotel.
• The bed was pretty uncomfortable.

“Overall, a nice hotel and wonderful for the price. Rooms include kitchens, which is a plus. Beds weren't extremely comfortable and mattresses seemed old, but the rooms were extremely clean and staff was nice.”

“This hotel was reasonably priced and was maintained very well. It was worth the short stay, but wouldn't have mind if I had to stay longer.”

• The bathroom was nice.
• Not enough parking close to the hotel entrance doors.

“Too pricey for the type of room and quality of the hotel. They charged for internet access which seemed ridiculous based upon the cost of the room. Many 1 and 2 star hotels provide internet access for free.”

• Conveniently located to our desired location
• Room had an unpleasant odor,

“As the name implied "Extended Stay America" was geared toward the long term guest. The room was a nice size and included a kitchenette. Aside from the unpleasant odor, the room had a very small TV, and the sheets didn't fit the bed and came off in the night. While the clerk was very pleasant, we couldn't find anyone when we were trying to check out. Turns out she was outside smoking. No continental breakfast provided.”

“It is a last resort type of place. No extras or comforts what-so-ever, not even small shampoos or toiletries! Beds were hard as rocks.”

• I was disappointed in the overall presence of the hotel.
• Again I was disappointed in the cleanliness and presentation.

“It was not very clean in the hallways or the room, our carpet also had a large wet spot that never dried - there is obvious a leak and the Mattress was very uncomfortable and the Pillows had no fluff- it was like sleeping on the floor.”

• No cleaning staff on premise.

“Stayed Thursday-Monday. Towels left in hallway for 3days. Garbage cans in stairway never emptied while I was there. Security was either watching TV outside through a side room window or sitting outside on the brick wall. If no uniform on would have thought it was guest. Area did not feel safe.”

• It wasn't too far from the city (Columbus).
• Not well maintained (cleanliness and general). Cheap feel/bad scent in and out of hotel room, especially halls/staircases.

“Low budget, one star, extended stay hotel with laundry facility, no thrills type of a place.”

• It was relatively clean and had a security guard.
• I was disappointed with the accommodations as I've stayed in other ESAs that were much nicer.

“Good if you need a cheap place to stay. Mini stove, micro, fridge. Has no desk but appears as though there may have been one there originally.”
