• Most of the hotel staff was quite helpful.
• There were some items that were in need of repair.

“This hotel is not a bad place for short trips on a budget.”

• Outdated, poorly maintained, just not good.

“As we arrived for our late check-in, I was greeted by pounding hip hop music pouring into the lobby at 1am. The young couple checking in before us was obviously strung out on some chemical-substance. The hotel has been poorly maintained, shoddily painted, and fixtures not up kept since 1975 or so. Our mini fridge was on the floor (ew), and the window to our first floor room didn't lock. Needless to say we didn't leave anything in the room during the day. Would not recommend.”

• The hotel had free wireless internet.
• The hotel was old and musty. Everything smelled like smoke and was not in a good travel location.

“If you are looking for a cheap hotel with fairly clean rooms this will get you by. This hotel is best only if you are doing business with GM which has a huge facility only a few moments away. Because of traffic the highway is not that close. I wasn't excited to stay there, it was just a place to sleep.”

• Free wifi and friendly staff.
• Gave me wrong room but quickly corrected the issue.

“Overall I liked it and would stay there again. The location was perfect; close to everything I wanted and had a rental car location right there in the parking lot. Even though the hotel wasn't "pretty" or fancy, I didn't expect it to be. I was there for a convention and I had more amenities at the quality inn than the others did at the Marriott. I had more space too and easy to use wife internet. I would recommend to budget or business travelers in a heartbeat. I had my kids and they loved our room and felt totally safe. Also had laundry service and washing machines, with kids you need that? ”

• Smoke, cleanliness, smell, old linens, wallpaper off wall, non-functioning bathroom.

• The decor was more upscale then I was expecting.
• No outlet to plug laptop into.

“Excellent for the money and the 2 star rating. The breakfast was above average and the have a restaurant and bar was great for the evening. I would definitely stay at this location again.”

• Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
• 1st room smelled bad. Lots of guide book errors and misspelled signs.

“Our original room spelled awful, but was excellent about changing our room. A sign by the continental breakfast bar said "breakfast is dinning only" - I have no idea what that was supposed to mean. The guide book spelled "gym" in the hotel layout map as "Jim". The street map in the guide booklet had the hotel and several restaurants on Mound Road, but they are really on Van Dyke. Not my definition of "Quality".”

• Although it was old and in need of renovation, it met my expectations.
• Staff was friendly but uninformed about transportation options.

“Location was good, security was not an issue, but hotel is in need of renovation. Considering it was a week with a special event, Super Bowl XL, our stay was sufficient and what we expected. Room rate was four times the normal rate as a result, not a good value. Hotel staff was not well informed about transportation options or arrangements into the city. Otherwise, they were friendly and helpful.”
