“Basic budget motel. No frills, no real services. Not worth the advertised price.”

• Very friendly staff, right off the high way close to all shopping.
• Nothing.

“I stayed at the Fairfield Inn In Marion because I was going to a Kairos retreat at the Jail. It was close to everything, shopping, dining and the Jail. I plan on staying here again in September when I return!”

• Conveniently located; very clean; accommodating staff.
• Little to no insulation between floors - too much floor noise.

“Very pleased. Pool and whirlpool area very clean. Rooms and common areas very clean. Nothing real fancy, but very accommodating staff - eating area for free breakfast was very nice also. Baseball team was staying in the hotel at the same time. The guys were big and heavy. We were located on the 1st floor; some of them were directly above us. Way too much creaking of their floor above our heads into the wee hours of the morning (not blaming the players). Spoke with front desk staff about it the next morning and they immediately moved us to a 3rd floor room, which was greatly appreciated.”

• Evening desk clerk not readily available.

“We were pleased with our stay here. It was easy to find, near a variety of restaurants, near the highway although we didn't find it noisy. We didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked inviting. The desk clerk wasn't at the desk any of the times we walked through the lobby in the evening, came from a back room if you stood there a few minutes. Breakfast selection was attractive and had more variety than most.”

• Room was quiet, clean. Five pillows per bed. Friendly, efficient staff. Warm cookies in evening. Breakfast bar.
• Can't think of a thing!

“Even though our ground-level room was facing the parking lot it was very quiet each of the six nights we stayed there. We liked having five pillows on the beds, and the room temperature control was accurate and comfortable. The room was nicely cleaned each day. The breakfast foods offered were good, if not inspired. I really liked having the coffee and creamers available 24 hours a day instead of having to use the little coffee maker provided in the room. In the evening the warm cookies were a nice touch. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was an all around nice experience.”

“I am a Marriott Rewards member and was disappointed in the staff's refusal to check the printed reservations and assign correct rooms. They also fouled up payment arrangements necessitating additional phone calls. In short, not what I expect from Marriott.”

• I liked how well they cleaned the room, the breakfast in the morning, and the pool and spa.
• How the manager treated myself, my brother, and my family.

“Other than the rocky start that we got off on, it was pretty good. Although a couple days into our stay the keys just shut off. So we had to get that fixed. But other than that good. The manager needs to get some customer service. My brother had made plans, and confirmed them with the hotel staff, that our plane landed at 1:30 am. That we would be there around 2, if it would be ok, if we could check in early at that time, because we had reservations starting Wednesday thru Saturday. There was a note on the file saying we could and that we would. But when we showed up, there was not a room in sight.”

• Great breakfast.
• Wet tile around pool is slick and there are no non-skid strips down.

“Hotel is a great value. Just watch out for the wet tile. My brother's girlfriend slipped on it and hurt her knee.”

• Room temperature control, noisy walls & ceiling from other guests.

“Average accommodations, except good breakfast option. Wireless internet connection is additional charge. Pool is located inside central and sound transfers throughout hotel 1st & 2nd floors - stay 3rd floor only if you want quiet.”

“We had no copy of our bill. The employees, while friendly, promised to email a copy of the bill to us. Three days later, we still have no copy of our bill.”

• Creaky floors.

“This hotel is located in a convenient part of Marion with access to local shopping, dining and highways (US23, SR95, SR98). It is clean, has free internet, extended pool hours and the staff is very friendly. It is older construction, and has been refurbished, but the mattress seemed quite old, the HVAC was passable, sounds traveled, and the floor overhead creaked. The problems aside, the motel is a good value.”

• Nice desk clerk, good local tour information.
• Hotel under renovation, huge sea containers prevented cars from using the parking lot.

“Friendly staff and clean breakfast area. Pool was family friendly. The hotel was very noisy, even at 2:00 Our room, located on the lobby between the pool & ice machine was comfortable. The heating unit was noisy, too, and we were unable to turn off the fan. Even in "off" mode, the motor continued to cycle. A good location, however, for travelers to and from Columbus, OH.”
