  • Clean and old style.
  • No where for visitors to go outside and sit to smoke.

“It was very nice, but it is all non smoking. Being a smoker I had to go down 3 floors and stand outside. I think they could make an area for visitors to sit and smoke. Many were outside standing by the doors to smoke. Everyone was very friendly and room was great. Thank you.”

  • Nice room/comfortable beds.
  • No shuttle was available, since was holiday weekend.

“The hotel was very nice and the rooms were clean, nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is about 3 miles from downtown, offer free shuttle anytime to downtown, was disappointed to find that due to the holiday weekend no shuttle was being offered, cost 18.00 for taxi one time back and forth, the remaining days we drove ourselves. Hotel offers no ice machines on any floors, had to call room service who then provided a pitcher of ice, which was not enough to fill cooler, rooms had no refrigerators. Restaurant and bar were not open past 11:00 pm, no coffee was available until after 8:00 am.”

  • The Shuttle service was not running, they only have valet parking and charged for it. Also they said, they have a late night menu, but didn't receive.

“I will
never stay at this hotel again. I was very disappointed that the Shuttle service was not running. Also I asked for a late night menu, which they offer, and was not given one. The front desk called and said they have ham and turkey sandwiches. This hotel is not family friendly. I was put into a room right across the hall from the elevators and was woke up constantly all night. Not only was I woke up but my 3 yr old was also. They only offer valet parking, which is fine, but if I am staying at the hotel I feel that the valet parking should be included in the stay. I not only tipped the valet but also had to pay for the parking.”

  • Wouldn't know.
  • We will never ever stay at the St. Regis.

“The hotel was overbooked. My husband and I didn't find out until the night before that we didn't have a room.”

  • The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was beautiful.
  • No WiFi.

“I loved the St Regis! Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is so gorgeous. It is an older building that was remodeled. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.”

  • Valet parking was unbeatable and staff was very friendly.
  • Rooms smelled strongly of perfume/cleaning agents.

“This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations as far as only being rated 2.5 stars. It was a very clean, upscale hotel that I would have guessed at least 3.5 - 4 stars.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • Ease of check in, very friendly staff.
  • No complaints, very great overall experience.

“Very modern, newly renovated hotel had a very inviting lobby as well as room. Rooms were a tad on the small side, but were overall very appealing. Location was outside of "Downtown" and should rather be considered Midtown Detroit, but the area didn't appear to be too blighted. Definitely exceeded my expectations, especially for a two star.”

  • Atmosphere & decor was good.
  • Staff was very rude.

“This hotel seems to be geared toward a very elite group and if you are a "normal" guest you weren't given as UCH respect as other guests.”

  • Some many amenities.
  • Need plasma TVs in all rooms.

“The only reason my wife and I stay at boutique hotels is for the detailed customer service. I recently stayed at the Hotel St. Regis and had a delightful time. The staff remembered my name from the moment I checked in until my departure. My wife loved the High Tea that they served in the library, and I enjoyed the free WI-FI. Most luxury hotels charge for it, however it was an added amenity here. My only suggestion is to add plasma TVs to all of the rooms rather than just to the suites.”

  • Nothing really.
  • Required valet parking, hotel under construction, no view.

“Wouldn't waste my time again.”
