• Nice decor theme, Sunday brunch, location.
• Poor cleaning and room upkeep.

“Very practical Marriott with many features: free WiFi, made to order waffle and omelets Sunday brunch buffet, great beds. Very friendly staff. Room service menu is quite limited. Poor in-room maintenance and room upkeep. Cleanliness is lacking. Housekeeping is mediocre, at best. Its almost time for remodeling.”

• Guest services was nice!
• Housekeeping is terrible at this hotel. I did not like the attitudes of the staff.

“I was only there for one night thank goodness. The housekeeping staff was terrible. They need to focus more on cleanliness of the room than having bad attitudes with guest. The morning of the day of checkout housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:30 am while I was sleeping to tell me that it was the next morning. Ok, checkout time is noon.”

• Swimming pool and staff were excellent.
• Size of pool towels was ridiculously small (? hand towels).

“Staff was very helpful in every way. The hotel was in a very quiet location and was just a short 15 mile ride from everything we did in downtown Detroit. Highly recommended.”

• The hotel was lean and attractive. There was a nice lounge and pool area.
• The pool was a bit crowded because the hotel was busy that weekend.

“I would recommend the hotel. Overall, a nice experience. Everything you would need was available to you.”

• The hotel was beautiful, easy to find from the highway, accessible parking and friendly staff.
• We have no complaints!

“The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. We didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant, therefore cannot make any comments on the service or food. I would definitely return there and recommend the hotel to our family and friends. Thank you!”

• Staff is friendly. Always remember me on my trips. Even after 6 months!
• There wasn't a room available on Thursday when I traveled so I had to change hotels.

“I love the Marriott Southfield. I stay there every time I travel to Detroit. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great and the pool and workout facilities are excellent.”

• Pool area was filled with hooligans.

“Very nice hotel but many of the guests make the hotel an unpleasant place. Sadly, the nice pool area was packed with loud and messy hooligans. They trashed the place and this seems to be common at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is great and is highly recommended. The rooms are clean and what you might expect for a three star hotel. Sadly, the hotel cant control the type of guests it gets.”

• The hotel was clean everyone that worked there was very friendly and I liked that it was smoke free.
• We was unable to maintain our desired temperature on the thermostat regulator.

“The hotel overall was very good. We enjoyed our stay the rooms the hotel in general was very clean smelled good. The workers was very pleasant, helpful and courteous.”

• Weekends finds many families with noisy kids running around late.

“This is our 2nd or possibly 3rd year here, on business, with a commute to Cobo Hall in Detroit. It's also our 2nd or 3rd year of noisy and rude families and out of control kids. We had to be relocated Saturday night due to teenagers bringing down the walls next door. The hotel staff was accommodating and polite about it, but couldn't control their guests.”

• Our hotel room was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again.
• We had a hard time getting to the road it was located on with the directions we got off its website.

“The location was good and convenient. Downtown Detroit was about 20 minutes away. The staff was superb and friendly. The hotel was recently remodeled. I was surprised that the rooms still had old tube type TV's and had not upgraded to flat panel sets yet. The bar was nice and the food was good at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was a good value.”
