• Great heated pool, nice lobby and coffee shop!
• Rooms were a bit dingy and could be updated.

• The staff appeared to be friendly.
• The location of the hotel was somewhat sketchy.

“Overall, this is a decent place if you get stuck in town or only need to spend one night. The location is off the main road. The complimentary breakfast was by far a joke. As many have stated, you cannot hear the airplanes going over the building and the beds are comfortable. However, remember to bring some Lysol or air freshener because they rooms have a funny smell. This should be a 2 star hotel.”

• The sleeping rooms looked outdated. The carpeting was very dirty.

“I think with some renovations, it could be a nice hotel. The lounge was not very clean and the service was average. The sleeping room could use some updating.”

• Old & rickety overall; ancient carpet in rooms; restaurant.

“Stairwells were filthy with litter; wallpaper was peeling off in corridors; elevator was old. Gross, overall. If this is what a 3-1/2 star hotel, I'd rather sleep in the car! Very disappointed.”

• The pool was great and the staff was friendly.

• The lobby was attractive.
• My room was filthy and smelly. Towels were old and dingy. Hotel looks like it's been let go.

“The hotel smelled musty and smoky. The staffs were dressed pretty casually and were not very professional. It took three calls to get a light bulb changed. The pool's chlorine level was so strong, that your eyes burned after only a lap. The work out areas equipment was not wiped down. When I turned on the tap water in my room, it smelled moldy. The carpeting in my room has never been cleaned and the walls and wood work were yellow and dingy.”

“I really enjoyed the hotel. I was nice, clean and convenient to where I need to be. The staff was really nice and made me feel appreciated.”

• The only good thing was the location.
• The room was not up to three star standards.

“While the staff at check-in was friendly and minimally helpful, the remainder of the staff was aloof and at times even rude. The carpet in the room appeared to have old stains or even mold particularly in one corner; I did not walk barefoot on the carpet at all. In the bathroom all the porcelain, sink, toilet and tub was worn to metal in places and cracked and the fixtures were corroded. The shower was inadequate. Closet space was good but hangers were limited. There was no guide for the television. There were holes in the towels but the bed was decent with clean sheets. The room fronted the highway and the soundproofing was not good though the public areas were quiet.”

• Very heavy smoke smell everywhere!

“Terrific staff but we had to ask twice for nonsmoking room before we got one and even the one we were given was still smoky but faint, which helped. Good value restaurant and bar, great staff there too.”

• Light in bathroom didn't work initially, but was corrected in less than 10 minutes.

“My pleasant surprise, the hotel was great. Elegant when I walked in, great room, nice bed, everything. Great stay!”

“A sterile hotel with a grand-looking lobby but otherwise very non-descript rooms lacking comfortable place to read or lounge at end of the day. Convenient to DTW and local eateries.”

• Proximity to airport and airport parking.
• Dirty. Non smoking room was obviously smoked in.

“The staff was rude, and beyond the lobby and restaurant, it was very dirty. There's a game room if you follow the signs, only to get all the way around the hotel and realize that your room key, no matter which room, will not open the game room door. The glass to the closest entrance to our room was cracked from top to bottom, and was not locked. I'm afraid that we're not entirely comfy in a hotel that far away from the front desk with outside access available to anyone in the city of Detroit. The complaints I read about the hotel beforehand were somewhat justified. With a little bit of work, and a moderate cleaning crew, this place could make for a very nice hotel.”

• My room didn't get cleaned. I had to ask for a different room. The elevator didn't work.

• Very easy to get in and out. Nice and quiet.
• They do not offer free 3 day parking when you stay and then fly out of DTW.
