• It was right in the airport.

“Beautiful room, great bed, wonderful bath facilities. Television controls were awkward, and there was no guide for channels.”

• The beds and pillows were as described heavenly.

“This was the hotel to stay at if you are traveling out of DTW and need a place to stay. I highly recommend it, staff was very pleasant and did not treat us any different than other guests. Rooms were very quiet and well maintained.”

• Its location is the best of any hotel in the world.
• Charging extra for Internet is absurd.

“This hotel combines location and luxury in a way that it unprecedented. I already loved flying in and out of the McNamarra terminal in Detroit. This makes it a pleasure to have an early flight.”

• Nothing.
• Internet did not work until 3am. Than they charged me $9.95. No ice on 1st or 2nd floor.

“If you don't want internet, want to walk through the hotel and go up 3 floors to get ice because all the machines are not working this is the place for you. It's noisy, dirty and the staff is not very friendly. I would never stay at this hotel again.”

• The ambiance is peaceful and welcoming.

“The Westin is a premier luxury hotel. It is beautifully appointed with peace and harmony as the central style. For harried business travelers, this is a haven of comfort and the perfect place to recharge. What a treat to catch an early morning flight after a good night's rest with just a few steps to the gate!”

• It was clean.
• Terribly difficult journey from parking ramp to room. Tough with a wheelchair.
  

“Parking is $19/night. The walk from the ramp to the room was about 10 minutes. Very difficult with one person in a wheelchair. We had to take 4 separate elevators each time when going between the room and the vehicle. The hotel may be great for a traveler using the airport, but for a family visiting it was sub par. For some reason the large 42" TVs had poor reception. There was no noise from the planes taking off.

• Love the fact that it has its own security entrance into the airport!

“The room was sleek, beautiful, comfortable - with an enormous flat panel tv and a window overlooking the gorgeous atrium (with bamboo shoots and a koi pond). Enter directly from the McNamara terminal and use the hotel's own security entrance to return to the terminal. So convenient!”

“This is a top hotel. Very convenient to fliers on Northwest Airlines. Very courteous staff; great food at room service. No complaints! Thoroughly recommended!”

• The hotel was beautiful.
• The lobby could use more natural light.

“The staff was friendly, very knowledgeable, and attentive. The hotel was beautiful and spotless clean. When they say they have "heavenly beds", they are not kidding. Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations and we will being staying their again.”

• Rooms were beautiful.
• Hours for massage were not long enough. They were not open late enough.

“When we were checking out, there was a guy who would not look up for anything to help us. He kept staring at the screen and was waiting for the other guy to help us, who was already helping someone else. We just had a quick question, we had already checked out, walked away and came back. But he refused to look and acknowledge us.”

• Dining - poor service waited one hr for dinner after 10 pm.

“Dinner was late, and sat under lights at 10 pm, menu selection was not the same as served dinner - substitution of ingredients. Other people served first after we had been waiting extended time period.”

• Furniture in room were getting a little worn.

“Love this hotel, within the DTW airport. Great for a late arrival or early AM departure. Nice rooms, although furniture is beginning to look at little worn (but still very nice!). Have stayed here 3 - 5 times and will definitely return.”
