• It was cheap and close to the highway.
• It smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room.

“It's about what you would expect, the staff is very helpful and the bathroom and shower were very clean.”

• Friendly staff.
• Loud rooms!

“Good enough for the price, but some of the rooms are very loud (we changed ours) because the hotel is basically under the Highway 85 overpass.”

• The room had two sinks, 1 in bathroom and 1 outside of bathroom.
• No refrigerator; poor décor; old beds; faulty door locks; no upgrades.

“The room had not been upgraded in sometime; the decor is dull and old. The door jams show sign of ware and "band aide" repairs. The blankets were old and much worn, the mattresses were hard and flat indicating they had not been replaced in a while. The air condition took 2-3 hours to cool the room. The bathroom fixtures were old; I have not seen a tube that large since the 1950s-60s. The sheets did not fit. The one chair in the room was heavily stained. The HJ in commerce is badly in need of a make over.”

• Wake up call didn't happen!

“This hotel was very sketch. There was no soap, the door and window were not secure, and the overall experience was terrible. The hotel staff was not even in uniform. I am not even sure if they really were staff in the hotel. We left the hotel to find another.”

• Clean, friendly, convenient and reasonable what more could I ask for?
• Nothing I did not like.

“We were driving my daughter to camp in SC, about 1 hr north of Commerce. We found the HoJo staff very helpful. The room was clean and well stocked with towels, coffee pot and coffee. The pool area was small but clean and there were plenty of chaise lounges and tables. There is a Cracker Barrel restaurant next door as well as a Starbuck's across the street and a McDonalds and Burger King are within a stone's throw. It was a perfect place to rest from a long day's drive and recharge our batteries.! I will probably stay there again on my way back to pick my daughter up from camp. A good value -- I recommend it!”

• Roof over my head.
• Dirty, broken furnishings, light out, burn holes in linen, gnats, alone on back side of hotel.

“Microwave was filthy. TV had poor reception on about half the channels. WIFI connection was marginal in the room-only able to connect about half the time due to poor signal strength. Bathroom towel rack was broken and sloped down at about a 30 degree angle. Toilet roll dispenser was rusted out and coming out of wall. Trash was stuffed into wall behind it. Gnats were everywhere in the room. I turned out the lights in the room except for by the sink and killed them as they gathered around the light. Light by the TV was out. This was a non-smoking room with linens that had numerous burn holes in them. I had to hang up. Hotel literature in the room was torn up and not replaced by staff. Of all my hotel/motel stays, this was the biggest rip-off I ever stayed in.”
