“My husband, daughter and I recently stayed at the West gate The room was really nice with one exception. bed bugs! We stayed two nights and after our first night's stay, I noticed I had some bites. We had walked around the shops in Gatlinburg the night before, so I was trying to think if I had gotten bitten, didn't remember any bugs around, so I shrugged it off. After our second night's stay, I woke up, went to the bathroom and noticed tiny, black bugs around my ankle. These bugs had been biting me all night. I was able to get six of these bugs on a piece of paper towel and my husband took them to the reception desk when we checked out about 45 minutes later. He was told this was a housekeeping issue. He waited more than 15 minutes for someone to show up, explained the situation, showed them the bugs and got the manager's name and phone number. Manager never called, so he did. after being told she knew nothing of our situation, she said she'd look into it and get back with my husband. Here's what we were offered. Water park tickets! Unbelievable. Why on earth would we go back after being bit numerous times? I have between 3 and 5 dozen bites on my feet, legs, arms abdomen and back. I filled out the comment card that was sent to us, told them a brief story of our situation and I get an e mail back staying that my husband told the hotel staff that we were hiking in the mountains and that's how the bites occurred. I have asthma and wouldn't even attempt to hike in the mountains. The bugs were on me when I got out of bed. Why are they denying responsibility? Why not do the right thing and admit to the problem and make it right. I was then told in the e-mail that there were no previous bug problems before we checked in, or since we checked out. I find that hard to believe. Please do not stay at this hotel. The staff just doesn't want to admit they have problems. Very disappointing since we had such a nice room.”

“This hotel was fantastic. happy hour with free drinks, full all you can eat breakfast, huge suite. I wish all hotels were like this place.”
