“Older hotel with some updating. Decent location.”

“The room was clean with very comfortable bed. We had a room that joined with another and we could hear the TV and people talking which was a little annoying. The door that separated the other balcony from us magically somehow kept coming unlocked, even though we made sure it was locked every time we left which made us a little uncomfortable. There was a slight smell in the room if the AC was not on. I would recommend it. It was lean and affordable.”

“Not a bad hotel, but did not have the extra things that you expect. Had to ask for blankets, and asked for pillows that did not smell (did get), no ice bucket, no tables or comfortable chairs to sit in, Towels looked a little dingy. For the area and money this hotel is making they need to re-invest.”

“Housekeeping did a good job, but were too slow and didn't get too our room until after 2 pm. Our son needed to take a nap at that time, so we didn't get our room cleaned that day. The pool was nice and the area is very quiet. The hotel is old and the furniture and carpet may be original, but it was clean. The room key was a large old key, and the deadbolt was tricky.”

“The hotel was easy to find and is in a great central location in Gatlinburg. Check in was very smooth. Room was spacious with individual porch/balcony overlooking pool. Bed was comfortable and there was microwave and fridge in room. There was a slight smell in room.”

“Good experience and helpful staff. I left my cell phone charger in the room when I left and they went out of their way to mail it to me.”

“The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a little on the older side but I have no complaints.”

“I was not pleased with the hotel staff. I was rarely in the room so I can't really complain about the stay. There wasnt a sign that stated not pet friendly and when noted to have a pet the hotel tried to charge an out of the blue amount to compensate for "pet cleaning" when the pet was kept in the kennel at all times while in room. The hotel room was very nice and a decent size. The location was short walk from Downtown which is not bad but considering all the hotel rooms that were available Downtown for the same price the walk (safety factor) wasn't worth it.”

“Overall it was a decent hotel stay. The room did have a smell if the ac unit wasn't on to circulate air. Its an older hotel so the outside didn't have the best "curb appeal." But close to downtown Gatlinburg, located at red-light 9, which is at the end of town. Great restaurants near hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't hear much traffic, which was great. Room was very clean minus the slight smell.”

“Only a few wrong with this hotel, 2 exterior doors need to be replaced as they look very old, vanities need to be updated - look very old, and pictures above beds too high! looks very odd. Price is OK. Overall satisfied with hotel.”

“We really enjoyed our stay here. Each room has a private balcony, the beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The staff was extremely friendly and they server a complimentary continental breakfast. I would definitely return to this hotel again!”

“Great place for a short getaway with the spouse and kids. The price was very affordable. New carpets have recently been put in. Very close to the tram if you plan to go to Other Gatlinburg.”

“It was a good motel for a family. It had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker which was a great. It was clean and quiet. The only major problem was smoking and non-smoking rooms need to be separated, we could smell the smoke from the next room.” Amenities at River Edge Motor Lodge, Gatlinburg
