“We tried several theme rooms. Loved the bed--super comfortable. The room was clearly well furnished. I am in the design business so I was quite impressed with the detail and artistic aspects. The room was equipped with a modern mini-fridge. It also had a microwave and a gigantic shower/bathroom. The rooms are very nice, very classy and was very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They made us feel very welcome and was always more than willing to help us with anything we needed or had questions about. The cleanliness of the theme rooms were very impressive. However, when you see other areas of the hotel you realize they need updating and also needs deep cleaning. However, putting that aside, well worth the money for the memories and enjoyment we got from staying at the Wildwood Inn. I adore the housekeeping staff, they were helpful in helping us find the perfect rooms for our anniversary. They spent an hour with us while we poked around trying to figure out which rooms we were going to choose. The desk staff also printed out directions and gave us information on nice places for dinner in the area. We had a great time and owe appreciation to the staff and owners of the hotel. We will be recommending this hotel to all of our friends and family. I have read the other reviews that are negative and honestly can't believe some of them. I will be a repeat customer because of the service I received at the Wildwood Inn. Regardless of some of the small issues the hotel may have, the customer service and the rooms made it a definite choice for all future stays for holidays and special occasions. The location of the hotel is quite central, very close to downtown Cincinnati and Newport, KY. Many area attractions and away from awful traffic. They are easy to locate. They are near many places to shop and is located in a safe area. The owners have clearly put their souls into this hotel so that we could imagine life as we didn't know it in Florence Kentucky. Lodging includes a continental cold breakfast, which could be amped but was satisfactory for us.”

“I have been going to the Wildwood Inn with my husband for the past 7 years and I have never had a problem. I inspected my room myself including the mattress and sheets and everything was perfect. It is a wonderful place to stay.”

“This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in 6 different hotels this week and we ended with this one after driving 12 hours. When we first got in the room my husband saw on the door it said to keep deadbolt locked at all times while in the room for our safety. It just gets worse from there. I'd say I want my money back but I know that won't happen.”

“My Mom booked the Champagne Suite for my 25th anniversary. The carpet was shot in the entrance and even worse up in the loft with the bed. The comforter was old and worn but at least it did not fit the bed (looked like they tossed a queen size on a king size). It didn't help that something seemed to be stuck to the comforter, the same kind of something stuck to the carpet. My all over feeling had an eww factor of an 8. I have stayed in old unrenovated Motor Inns that were more inviting. The hot tub which is the draw to this room had been severely damaged in the past and had a very rough unattractive patch. The water flow to the hot tub was extremely slow and the water was cooling off before it reached the jets. Although I wiped out the tub with a towel prior to filling, here was "junk" floating in the water. I was terrified of what I would see if I turned on the jets and I couldn't bring myself to stick my hand in the water to pull the plug and drain the water. No worries since the water all drained out in less than an hour anyway. Now my eww factor is a 20!!! There were two air conditioners and a ceiling fan to keep us comfortable. Unfortunately it didn't allow for much sleep, when the units turned on it sounded like a jet going through the room. If we had the money we would have gone somewhere else. I am so embarrassed to tell my Mom to ask for her money back or at the very least a discount so she is not charged more than a standard room.”

“Very dirty, even moved to another room and it was dirty as well! Poor maintenance, building in need of major repair and cleaning. Had to leave and get another room at another hotel. The pool was dirty as well.”

“I would not even take my grand kids there for a day at the pool after experiencing the night there. The bed dipped in the middle, light bulbs burned out, heater roared an got too hot. Noisy upstairs at 3 a.m. due to whirlpool. We did not call the desk because the sign in room said to report any problems within the first 30 minutes. We dropped off our suitcases and joined friends for dinner so our half hour was long over when we found these problems. When I mention this to the manager he was rude and nasty, said it was our own fault for not calling them for another room. I find it hard to believe any other room would have been any better. At the "breakfast" lounge (5 tiny tables and 8 chairs) the juice was still frozen, milk was warm, coffee watered down, tiny off-brand donuts and bread was stale. Floors were dirty (months of grit build-up). Still we had been looking forward to our twentieth wedding anniversary in a romantic setting, this hotel spoiled it for us.”

“The main thing we did not like as a family visiting this hotel is that the hot tub is blocked off from the pool area, so adults do not get to enjoy the hot tub unless they leave their children unattended---which we would not do. The pool used to be visible from the hot tub. I would not visit there again with children just for that reason. I would rather stay in a hotel that had the hot tub and pool in the same area and pay the same price that Wildwood charges. One thing I did notice was that the hotel is much cleaner than it was when we visited a couple of years ago.”

“This Hotel was a nightmare. They say no parties but we had 2 Birthday parties on both sides of us. Only 5 people allowed per room. The one birthday party had 11 adult. They screamed until after 12AM. The staff saw these girls running up and down the aisle screaming and never said anything. When I complained they told them to quiet down but it never did. Sign says no kids in hot tub but all 10 went in wasn't enough room and chased a couple out that had been in there. Room was run down. Blankets old and gross. Might be something I let my dog have, remote didn't work, exchanged it 2nd didn't work. 4 year old was stuck in bathroom because handle didn't work. Supposed to be pool view, our view was of wall enclosing steps.”
