• Beds were comfortable.
• Room too close to the pool and kids were allowed to scream until 11 pm.

“The hotel was nice looking and the rooms were comfortable although my hairdryer kept blowing the fuse and I couldn't use it. I was also not pleased with the fact that the rooms were so close to the pool area and the kids were screaming and carrying on until the pool closed at 11 pm. I suggest having a curfew on the kids allowed in the pool and allow adults only after 9 pm.”

• The Roxy, which was a very upscale bar. This bar, however, was too good to be in this hotel.

“We showed up at 6:30pm, and our room was not ready for us, and the parking lot was only 10% full when checking in (unsure why the backup). Because of this we got stuck with the first available room (since ours wasn't cleaned), my fiancee and I had to sleep in a room with (2) single beds. Room was cleaned though, to my eyes. Though I did question why a maid entered my room (without knocking) and said "excuse me, but they shouldn't give you in this room, its not ready". No polite way of saying it. The pool water was brown in color especially darker in one area that I did not dare to look at up close. Either way this was a big turn off and we didn't swim in the pool or go in the whirlpool. Overall, not bad.”

• This hotel had the appearance of poor housekeeping and maintenance. Mattresses were old and very worn.

“This hotel had the appearance of poor housekeeping and maintenance staff. I requested a room near the pool and was given one as far from the pool area as possible. As I came into entrance 3 there was a strong odor of gas. The first thing I do upon entering any hotel is to check for unwanted guests such as bedbugs. When I pulled back the sheets I found dirty sheets. Also, the bed skirts on both beds were at least 9-12" from the head of the bed and severely dragging on the floor at the foot. I immediately called the front desk and was told they would send a set of keys to a replacement room. A maintenance man arrived almost immediately and apologized for the inconvenience, blaming the room's condition on new employees. When I mentioned the gas odor I was told that it had been checked and its source was not known. My replacement room was in better condition. The beds (both rooms) were of very worn and old. The pool, whirlpool and wireless internet were this hotels only redeeming qualities.”

• It was close to the highway and the mall.
• Cigarette burns in pillowcase in a non-smoking room.

“More pride could have been taken in the preparation of the room, but the staff was very nice. It was good for the price.”

• The price, location and rooms were good!
• Continental breakfast was okay - had large church group there that took advantage so it was always low on food.

“Hotel is old which is ok if it is well kept. This property has been going downhill for sometime now and this trip was not a good one. I am very disappointed with the hotel. It was not very clean and the staff could have been better.”

• The location was good and the staff was friendly.
• It was a smoking room, it was run down, it smelled of smoke and pets, and it looked dirty.

“This is a budget hotel that is pet friendly. If you don't have a germ phobia or you don't mind the smell of stale cigarettes then this is the place for you. On a good note the staff was friendly and they brought a smoke odor remover machine to our room to help with the smell (but it didn't work).”

• Free internet.
• Poorly run, not enough towels avail, lowlifes hanging around, indifferent employees.

“This hotel claims they have been renovated but if they have its already showing its age. The employees are not very helpful, there are some undesirable type people staying and hanging around there, and it was just not a very good feeling to the place. Its 2 1/2* but a 2* is being nice in my opinion.”

“The hotel was nice for a 2.5 star place. It was neat, clean, and staff responded to our needs in a timely manner.”

• My son did like their tropical pool area.
• I have been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel where the bed springs actually poked at you. Not restful sleeping.

“Although there looked like some remodeling was done, it would make a huge difference if the beds were replaced with newer ones.”

• It was close to stores, the freeway, and the nightlife venues.

“Looking for an inexpensive place to lay your head for an evening. This is the place for you, just bring earplugs with you to block out the screaming children from the pool.”

• Price.
• Maid service was poor.

“We were disappointed in the cleaning service. We were shorted towels & instead of bringing some to our room we were told to come down to the lobby and get them. This is poor customer service. We stayed in this room for 5 nights and the only thing noticeably done to the room was the bed was made & trash emptied. The tub/basin/stool was not cleaned.”

• I liked being able to park outside the window of my room. The desk staff was nice.
• The window lock was broken, the screen was loose and a big moth greeted me.

“It's a little run-down. The window was not secure, making me feel unsafe. Also, the entrance from the parking lot was dark and once inside, the door to the corridors was unmarked, leading me on a little goose chase. Not very welcoming. The room was ok, except for the window, loose screen and big bug.”
