• Dirty pool and hot tub.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful but there was scum/mold growing around the edges of the hot tub and the pool.”

• The location.
• Mattress and box spring on the beds were torn.

“The hotel is well located to Downtown. Walking or biking not a problem. The staff at the hotel was not happy that we booked with you, they went out of their was to make a point, i.e. we requested a non smoking room and we were placed in a smoking room and they refused to move us even though they had vacancies.”

• Very convenient, close to expressway, dock.
• Was not beach front property. Could not retrieve messages from VM & help couldn't either.

• The discount tickets for the boat to Mackinac Island.
• The roof over the pool had large holes in it.

• Loved the space in the rooms, and the pool was great too.
• The restaurant was not friendly to the kids.

“I have 4 kids, so my husband and I got 2 rooms. The rooms where not next to each other but they did the best they could. (7 rooms apart) the staff was very friendly and patient with the kids. (All under the age of 8) the pool was fun and safe for all the kids. Rooms where clean and spacious. Good view of the island. The boat launch was right next to the hotel so it is easy to take that trip to the island. I would stay at this hotel again, happily.”

• The location of the hotel.
• Asked for non smoking, but only got smoking room.

“We went to the Days Inn Mackinaw City / Lakeview for a short weekend getaway. We got a room with lake view. The hotel too only provide nonsmoking rooms the Days Inn only provides smoking rooms and there is no chance to change it. We asked twice to change it and they wouldn't do. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is very small and not very appealing. The pool looks like its best days are behind it a long time ago. The hotel is located next to the Arnold transit ferry company, which means you do not need to use your car but you have the noises from the ferries. If you're looking for a hotel with a nice beach this is not the place to stay. The nearby restaurant where you have breakfast is crowded and at the time we went in there was no table cleaned up or prepared for guests.”

• It was on Lake Huron Awesome view of Machinaw Bridge.
• Unpleasant employees, horrible breakfast, not on beach (misleading photos).

“I would not stay here again mostly because of the employees. I must say the rooms were nice and clean besides the fact that we had a large spider in our room. Great location for Mackinaw Island visitors since there was a port for the fairy boat practically in the parking lot.”

• I liked the fact it was close to the downtown area and on the lake.
• The room was a bit small and the continental breakfast wasn't very good.

“Days Inn is in a very good location in proximity to downtown Mackinaw City. Also, located directly on the waterfront. The rooms aren't very spacious and there is no access to a computer. My children loved the pool and hot tub located separately from the inn. The continental breakfast is next door and an upgrade is possible for an extra $5.78 per person including drinks. We opted for the free breakfast and it was average at best.”

• We were assigned to worst rooms in this hotel when there were better rooms available.
• We were upgraded to better rooms the second day under request.

“I believe we were assigned to 2 worst rooms in the hotel, dark, small, no lake view, and with smoking smells. The hotel staff insists it was a non smoking room. We stay there for one night, and asking for better rooms under any cost when we find out there were rooms with lake view available. Finally we got free upgrade which we feel that we should have got it on our first night.”
