  • Didn't like this experience.
  • Dirty old section of facility.

“Have stayed at Boyne previously - great place. This room was in a small old building away from the main facility that did not have the same amenities as the main facility. Should not be rated the same as main facility. Also too far from Petoskey area requested. Would not have picked if given a choice especially the substandard area away from the main lodge.”

  • Not much, the Bartley House @ Boyne Highlands is in poor shape.
  • Did not meet my expectations for a 2 star hotel.

“The Bartley House at Boyne Highlands Resort is in very poor shape. All of the plumbing fixtures were out of date and some leaked and/or did not work properly. The HVAC unit in the room was old and very loud. The TV was old and made a loud buzzing sound when turned on. Although, I was in a non-smoking room, when the window was open (second floor) smoke from people out side filled the room making it unpleasant for quite a while. The over-all facility is in very poor shape and in need of updating. This was not a good hotel experience for me.”

  • European feel, clean, friendly, hospitable, cozy. Great for business, leisure, kids, no kids, and skis!
  • Nothing.

“This stay was problematic in the beginning. I had requested a three-star hotel for two adults, and when I arrived at the hotel, they had reserved for us a small room with one double bed. This is not three star accommodations for two adults. I returned to the front desk and requested a room with a king bed. They gladly obliged and did not charge us an upgrade fee. I am thankful for that. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

  • The location. Hiking trails, shops nearby, pools, sauna, hot tub. Fantastic.
  • There was nothing that we did not like. Want to go back.

“Accommodations were superb. Friendly staff. Great location for summer not just winter. Lots to do in the area. Hiking, shopping, great restaurants, dinner theater, golf, swimming, more that we ever imagined. Would like to have stayed a couple more nights but had to get back to work.”

  • Beautiful Setting.
  • The rooms are old. I just expected more from Boyne Highlands resort!

“The location was very nice, the setting was beautiful, but the rooms were just not very nice... not necessarily dirty, just old. The hot tub was dirty, and it wasn't easy to find things there. Many times when we would go through the lobby. No one was there. We could ask directions or anything. I expected something a little more grand from a resort. The rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are actually nicer!”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • Lots to do, many amenities.
  • Stairs, no elevators.

“The landscaping of the resort was absolutely stunning. The rooms were older, but very adequate. Many amenities on site included pool, hot tub, golf, boccie ball, paddle boats, trout feeding. Great for families with small children as well as older children. Saw show Young Americans, was really good, food was ok. Menu prices for hotel restaurants was expensive, didn't eat there.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Big room.
  • Amenities were far apart.

“I was disappointed with the quality of this hotel. It didn't meet my expectations of a 3-star hotel. The rooms needed to be cleaner, the staff was very slow with check-in and check-out. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working and I had to change rooms at 2:00 am, and was only given a new room after much insistence. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends. ”

  • Very clean.
  • No heat in our room, and no elevators in our building.

“Nice place to visit, I've stayed there many time before, just do not get a room in the OLD Building. While it was very clean the accommodations were that of a 2 star hotel. The night we stayed there the heat had been turned off and temperature drop to near freezing that night. We didn't really notice it until the next morning, very cold. Heat was turned on about 1 hour after we complained. Like I said I've stayed here many times before and will return again, I'm not sure I want a room on the 3rd. floor of that building again.”

  • Nice woody setting.
  • No food available.

“I was placed in a building 1/4 mile away from the main desk area. Nobody working the desk, had to use a lobby phone to contact the desk which was in a different building.”

  • The sauna was good & hot after coming in from the outside hot tub.
  • No elevator which makes it tough with ski equipment.

“The hotel is old but nice all things considered. An elevator would be helpful with carrying all ski equipment and for those who walk in their ski boots. Huge hot tub and good hot sauna. Complimentary coffee and tea or hot water provided.”

  • Beautiful location and buildings
  • Too "resorty" for me. You dont need to put on airs

“Beautiful location and facility. Enjoyed the lift ride to the top of the mountain. If you enjoy lots of activity and people doing things around you this is the place.”

  • The resort is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. We enjoyed the large hot tub and paddle boats!
  • We only had breakfast at the resort, but it was very expensive.

“Great, quiet and beautiful get away. The rooms were nice, but we didn't have cable. That was okay because we spent most of our time in the large hot tub and out on the paddle boats.”

“This Hotel is beautiful and in a beautiful location. I would definitely go back there especially for skiing. It has plenty of amenities (more than its 2 star rating would suggest). I was sorry I couldn't stay longer.”

“The room was poorly maintained. The window crank was broken and the air conditioning was poor. The dining room food was below average and the prices were too high. I would not recommend staying at this resort.”
