“The hotel was perfect for any traveler. The renovations that are yet to be completed, were great and it appears will make it even better once completed. I would love to visit them again.”

“This is a very old and run down hotel. The front desk tried to make it better, but the whole place is run down. I hope you really read this note.”

“Was located near free shuttle, very travel friendly, good value, historic but well maintained, however, some furnishings looked worn and tired.”

“If you like trains, this is the hotel you must stay in. The lobby is an old Chattanooga railway hall. A handful of rail passenger cars have been converted into modern hotel rooms. Along the sidewalk are gas lights. Dinner in the dining car is reasonably priced.”

“I loved the atmosphere and the pizza train was great with a very friendly cook. Our room was never cleaned. I called and they were not helpful or very friendly and sent someone while my son was napping, which I specified was not a good time. I called again and they said they would try but didn't have but one cleaner after 4 p.m. We had two rooms and one had ants. My son loves trains, so I will probably give them another try.”

“Where to start. Great idea for a hotel, beautiful pool areas, huge rooms what should be a comfortable family friendly location. Instead it is very worn around the edges, Spartan furniture, no mattress pad, flat pillows, threadbare towels, air conditioner had leaked and soaked the carpet yet they didn't offer to move me, the engineer had to move me when he saw the condition of the room. Very disappointed with this property.”

“Hotel is unique, as it was the Chattanooga Train Station, converted into hotel, with trains wagons used as restaurants. Its mainly good for family with kids, as it had several pools. The exercise room need an upgrade badly, as 2 of the 5 machines were not functioning, & the functioning ones seemed from 1980.”

“It has three buildings and the one we stayed in smelled as if it had been closed up a lot. The pool was full of debris and the paint in the bottom of the bath tub was peeling and coming up. The water in the shower took over 15 minutes to drain after a 5 minute shower.”

“It's very family friendly. Indoor pool was great and grounds nicely kept. Did have a musty smell and the beds were quiet hard. But, overall we really enjoyed our stay.”

“This hotel, while old, is nice. I've stayed in better and I've stayed in worse. The hotel is unique. The main lobby has a lot of historical architecture. The hotel cafe has good coffee. The gardens are nice to hang out in. The hotel staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help me.”

“Having stayed at the Choo-Choo several times, I am always pleasantly surprised upon my return. The gardens are always nice, the staff excellent, and there are many things to do at the resort. The pools (while cold) offer things for the kids, while the adult sections are nice (when they are open). Best of all is the convenience, most areas of Chattanooga have pay-parking only, by staying at the Choo-Choo, you have free parking and are steps away from the main shuttle terminal for CARTA, Chattanooga's free shuttle service to all the downtown attractions, restaurants, etc.”

“This would be great place to have taken my children when they were younger. The sleep cars would have had a great appeal to them. The transportation to other attractions was free and readily available. I would recommend eating away from the hotel as the wait staff is very poor and not very friendly. Getting your first cup of coffee with breakfast takes over twenty minutes and forget ever getting a second cup.”

“Check in and out was easy. Door to building we stayed in was supposed to require key to enter but would not close. Carpet in lobby and hallways was worn out. Panels were partially torn off the elevator doors, wood paneling in the hallways had sections gouged out and carpet and walls were in disrepair. In the drapes would not close to cover the window. Laying in bed you could watch people walking in to the building in the mirror, meaning they could watch you as well. I had to lean the ironing board against it for privacy. There was evidence of a 2-3 foot wide section of wall that was seriously damaged behind the wallpaper looking like there was a hole behind the paper. You had to hold the handle down for about 30 seconds to get the toilet to flush properly. If I had planned to stay more than one night I would have found other accommodations. This Hotel was supposed to be a 2.5 star rating which is what you give to Marriott Courtyard down the street. There was no comparison between the two.”

“We only stay here when we are in town just to go to the restaurants they have. We could stay some place else but we would have to drive to the other hotel so we just stay here and walk back to the room plus they have an indoor pool for rainy days.”

“This hotel has 3 buildings. Buildings 1 and 2 are old and musty. But, building 3 is new and definitely the one that rates 3 star. Only ask for building 3 to be happy with your stay at this Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo Choo.”

“The Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo Choo was a really exciting place to stay because it had a lot to look at with the train cars and shops and dome in the lobby. It was also well placed to explore down town Chattanooga on the free electric shuttle.”
