• It was close to Ponderosa and Pizza Hut, but away from the hectic atmosphere of the other hotels.
• No indoor pool if the weather had been any cooler.

“We were very happy with this hotel. We had our 8 year old grandson with us, and he loved the outdoor pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was average. The bed was nice and firm. We had a suite and a sofa in the sitting room would have been nice for our grandson to sleep on. As it was, we made a bed up for him on the floor. Overall, we had a very nice stay; and will stay there again when we go back to Big Rapids.”

• Pets allowed.
• Having to go up stairs because pets weren't allowed on ground floor due to allergy free rooms.

“My stay was very comfortable, the room was wonderful. The only thing I can suggest is that maybe some rooms on the first floor should be left for pet capability so we don't have to climb stairs, other wise everything was great.”

• It was nice and quiet.
• The internet was down. That was the whole reason I booked this particular hotel.

“When I arrived, my check in was quick and friendly. I asked about the internet and was told that it was not working, hadn't been working for a couple of days and was expected to be down for a couple more. The ENTIRE reason I chose this hotel was for that feature. Which I could not use. I was given a larger room (even though my reservation said I was getting the larger room in the first place, but they did not have any record of that) for the same price. The larger room did me NO good without internet. I had to LEAVE and find a hot spot elsewhere in town and that was not 24 hours. Very disappointing!”

• Room size. Adjacent sitting room was nice.
• The ability to open the door to the room.

“The staff was always helpful but having to walk down the stairs multiple times for key problems and sticking doors was troublesome.”

• Staff was friendly and helpful.
• "Non-smoking room" smelled bad, air conditioner did not work, second room bathtub did not drain.

“I do not recommend staying in this hotel. For the money spent it is run down and dirty feeling. The staff was quite pleasant and upon telling them that my "non-smoking" room smelled horrible, was 85 degrees and the air conditioner did not work they were quite agreeable and quickly moved us to another room. This second room had none of the afore mentioned problems, however when showering the next morning I did so in 6 inches of standing water as the tub would not drain. No matter how nice the staff is, this hotel is not a place I will stay again.”
