“I really enjoyed our stay; most (positive) thing about our stay was the friendliness of the staff from the desk clerks to housekeeping and maintenance. The most (negative) aspect was the fact that I am partially disabled and have to use a cane or walker to move around. Since our room was on the second floor and all the way at the end of the building it really hurt to climb the stairs and walk to the room. I do not fault the hotel at all; they were not aware of my physical limitations until we arrived, but then offered to carry our bags to our room. Secondly, the Jacuzzi: super loud, wife could only use it about 15 minutes then she got a severe headache from the noise/whine of the motor. I couldn't use it at all because I feared that I wouldn't be able to get out because there were not any sort of handrails to assist me.”

“For years, we have stayed at this hotel whenever we visit the area. We keep returning because of the consistent quality and the excellent location. They have several spa rooms which are always nice and very clean. We did try the new free, full breakfast and found it very disappointing. The hot food (eggs & sausage) were bland and unappealing. However, there are a couple of very nice restaurants nearby with excellent breakfast offerings. We have recommended this hotel in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”

“It was what I was looking for as a recent college graduate needing a cheap yet clean place to stay while interviewing away from home. It was convenient, the room was clean, they had a nice free hot/cold breakfast.”

“We were upgraded to a deluxe room, but that was not too much help. The staff was very good and knew us on second encounters. The pool is in need of some work, and we were a little concerned about our safety. The complementary breakfast was very nice.”

“The location of the hotel is perfect. Many restaurants, scenery, and shopping nearby. You can walk to everything you need, including a scenic walk along Grand Traverse Bay. My room was clean, quiet, and warm. Though I was traveling solo for business, I would not hesitate to bring my family back to this hotel.”

“Great staff full of ideas of things to do in the area; manager even stepped out to say hi and offered his input on things to do while in traverse. Enjoyed our room with microwave and frig, very clean and comfortable. Pool is the deepest we've ever seen, 11ft and very warm, helped shake off the bitter cold weather outside. For a continental breakfast, which we were expecting donuts and coffee, we were surprised to find so many other items, including hot cereals. We were very happy with our stay and weren't disappointed, we'll be back!”

“We booked a non-smoking room several days ahead of time in January (an off-season time of year). After checking in, we opened the door to our room to find an air filter on the bed, ash trays on the table, and a very strong smell. We returned to the front desk and discovered that this particular room was last room available in the main wing of the motel. The staff claimed that the room wasn't supposed to be a smoking room (I didn't believe them, all the non-smoking rooms had signs on the doors and this one clearly did not). We refused to stay in a smoking room so they had to open up a non-smoking room for us in an unoccupied section of the motel. The staff was pleasant; I just wish I wasn't given the runaround.”

“My wife is neurotic about spiders. We have never seen a spider in any hotel until this stay when it appeared over our bed. In January? Continental breakfast was not conducive to healthy eating: watery job, any yogurt, shriveled fruit, bad, watery coffee. Once in traverse city, we found with current "snow less" conditions in a winter sports town, we could have stayed in any 4 star place for less!”
