“This is an older, very elegant hotel. If you want to be close to business meetings, night life. Had a very, very romantic dinner.

“If the bathroom was larger and internet was free, I'd have given them a 5 star rating. The Seelbach fits the definition of a grand old hotel well and only needs a few minor tweaks to meet the criterion completely.”

“Very old fashion and traditional; however instead of looking vintage the amenities in the room appeared a little old and dull. The "queen" bed was actually a double but the location is great and the staff was friendly enough.”

“Very comfortable bed, tiny bathrooms, but efficient. Terrific staff and old school layout. Very posh.”

“The hotel is great; it is your service that is in question. I paid you for 3 nights and you received your money but denied the hotel their payment and now they have charged me an additional fee for the unpaid balance you were supposed to pay.”

“Overall it was a wonderful stay. Both the closet and bathroom were a little small, and the internet access was a ridiculous $9.95 per day, but the overall experience was very good. The staff of the hotel were VERY attentive.”

“An incredibly neat and historical hotel with classy lobby and restaurant areas. We requested a refrigerator and was told by the front desk it would be sent up. It never arrived during our 4 days there. We had a family of 4. The first day one of the housekeeping staff offered extra towels. We accepted. Even though the housekeeping staff always collected 6 towels each day they would only leave 2. I would have assumed that they knew our reservations was for four persons. Why only leave 2 towels. The bathrooms were very small and the bathroom location was quite inconvenient for a family.”

“Beautiful hotel and 1/2 block from 4th Street Live (Louiville's new downtown entertainment spot). I will stay there again when I'm in town.”

“While steeped in history the Seelbach is not a four-star hotel due to its very confining rooms and clumsy arrangement. The staff, however, makes staying there bearable as they are very attentive and good-natured.”

“This hotel was ok. I have stayed at many 4 star hotels and this was not one of them. The air conditioning was not working well in our room and upon calling for service. We never received it. The beds were small not true double beds. The bathtub was clogged and water filled up to above my ankle. The desk and furniture was filled with somekind of sticky gum and oily fingerprints. Clearly not clean.”

“Amazing staff - very friendly and most helpful. If you stay duing summer between wed and sat ask for room away from 4th street. 4th street is turned into burbon street during this time and can be loud till late in the morning.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Seelbach, but it's probably not the best place for a family. The rooms are tiny, and the TV is blocked by the posters of the four poster beds. That said, it was very clean, and well-located, and was a good deal for the price.”

“It was a really neat hotel. The area didn't feel extremely safe at night, but the parking garage behind the hotel led directly to an entrance.”

“This hotel should definitely not be a four-star hotel. It should be listed separately as a historic hotel. To list it as four star is very misleading, since it was cramped and uncomfortable, with no luxuries like a pool.”

“Lovely, 100 year old classic. Rooms are small.Louisville is a quaint place. Makes for a fun weekend.Would only stay at the Seelbach or The Brown. Both Excellent. However, I paid way more than I should have.”
