“Hotel had an open air feeling from the time you arrive. The rooms are generous in size and well appointed. The beds are comfortable. The staff is well trained and courteous. The location is great whether you are in town for a sporting event on business or on a family trip to enjoy Indianapolis.”

“Lobby was a bit noisy and over run -- great room service exactly at the time I requested it -- and fairy priced for the service.”

“This hotel was in a great location for walking to the canal, mall and restaurants. It is beautiful in the rooms and lobby. Also the bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend it. I would love to go back.”

“2nd time we have stayed in this hotel. It is in a perfect location to do things downtown. Sports, shopping, or dinning and clubbing.”

“Unless your intent is to visit a Colts game, I would definitely not stay here during a home game. I was in town on business, and tried to return to my room at 9:30 p.m. I was stopped, yelled at by a couple of police officers, and forced onto I-70 South (where apparently everyone was headed, since it was nearly the end of the game). All of the streets were completely blocked off surrounding the Marriott, and I basically was stuck driving around the city for an hour and a half. No one at the Marriott warned me that the street would be closed. I was later informed to find a meter on the street and park there (after I had paid the $28 for valet parking). There were no meters available. Again, there was a home game! I was extremely unhappy, and did not understand why the Marriott couldn't have at least warned me about the traffic issues.”

“Disappointed that I was not informed that the swimming pool was not open and I had a 5 year old that had been talking about swimming for a week.”

“Parking was horrible ($25 for overnight fee even though we were staying at the hotel), $12.95 to use the internet (even 2 star hotels most of the time has free internet!), $5 to boil a pot of coffee in the room! I couldn't believe the extra hidden fees. I thought 'Wow a four star hotel, should be exciting see luxury for a night'. They charged $5 for a bottle of water they left in the room! I was afraid to even touch the shampoo or conditioner for fear I would be charged. The room wasn't any bigger than the Holiday Inn, only difference they had a down comforter and some artwork on the wall. Even Holiday Inn gives free internet and coffee. Just cracked me up. I won't stay there again.”

“This was a very nice hotel with a great location. The only thing that we didn't like was the fact that we got 2 double beds instead of 1 king and the hotel charged my card for $13.95 for no reason and parking was $25.”

“We were not pleased because we received a room with two full size beds and we would have like to at least have a queen size bed in order for two of us to be comfortable sleeping together.”

“The hotel is clean and a short walk from the center of Indy. The parking for two cars in the hotel garage actually cost us more. The Hyatt next door allows guests to park for $11, $13 with valet.”

“The Marriot Downtown Indianapolis is a four star hotel. The atmosphere is inviting for a romantic getaway, business setting, or just a time away with friends. The convenience of downtown where everything is happening, the mall, nice restaurants, casual restaurants, night life, or just the get up and go made this hotel and it's location worth the stay.”

“Downtown Indianapolis Marriot has the feel of an upper scale hotel, but it's generic decorations and restaurant service put it closer to a 3 star hotel than a 4 star. General staff seems friendly and attentive, but the restaurant servers do not work as a team the way other 4 star hotel restaurant staff often do. In a 4 star hotel restaurant, at least 4 people should greet your table: host, server, sommelier, and bus person. This hotel only had the server greet my table. Downtown Indianapolis Marriot is, however, a good value and I would recommend it for business travelers and families.”
