• Top floor room & indoor parking plus workout area.
• Nothing.

“Would be a great gathering place for a Notre Dame football game. Close to campus and within walking distance of some downtown restaurants.”

• The employees were friendly.
• My first night, one of the beds had stains on the sheets.

“Overall, I was satisfied with my stay except for the dirty sheets. The garage was set up kind of weird, but managed to get through it.”

• The room overlooked the St. Joseph River.
• The parking fee.

“The Marriott in South Bend is one of my favorite hotels in the area. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly though on weekends when Notre Dame is playing they forget that some of the guests are not wanting to listen to music that is so loud it rattles the walls.”

“Nice location overlooking river. $10 charge for parking seems steep. Free internet is available only in public spaces. Internet access in your room is an additional $10.”

• The view of the river was excellent.
• Internet connection was not free.

“This hotel was excellent for both business travelers (since it was located downtown and across from the College Football Hall of Fame and from the theatre), the romantic traveler since it was across the street from the river, the art museum (great views) and the family vacationers since it had access to the river, athletic, cultural venues and proximity to dining. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable.”

• Needs to be updated.

“The hotel is located in the Century center in downtown South Bend. Unfortunately, the Century center & the hotel need to be updated for the new century. Finishes are dated and look to have been pulled out of the Marriot set for traditional buildings and do not work here. Overall its a pleasant, rather average Marriot.”

• The room was very small and cramped.

“The location of the hotel was perfect for us, right in the middle of downtown! Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The room itself was small and cramped, however the beds were wonderful. I would return again.”

• Pay for internet in room, parking was $9.00/day.

“Other than the fact that you have to pay for just about everything including parking ($9.00/day) and in room internet, this was a very nice hotel. Watching the fireworks from our 5th floor room was great. The staff was always friendly and the pool was very nice even if it was a little cold.”

• Work out facilities were great. Starbucks in lobby a plus.
• Room carpet was a little old. Parking expensive.

“Pretty good. Positives: Clean, great work out facility, Starbucks in lobby. Negatives: Parking was a little pricey for a non-busy time of year, carpet in our room was a little bit old.”

• Computer e-mail access in front lobby was handy.
• I was required to pay $9 for parking. It's not unreasonable.

“Best place for those who need to stay in downtown South Bend for business or to visit Notre Dame. Hotel was nice, but I was disappointed in downtown South Bend overall.”

• The bed & all the pillows! Wonderful!
• There was nothing I did not like.

“The room was very nice, very clean, overlooking the river. The bed & the pillows were exceptional! The hotel is in the restaurant district, so there are lots of options for meals. Nice pool, too!”

• Small double beds.

“Would recommend for families and business people, the rooms with double beds have only fully size mattresses which are a little small but otherwise our stay was great.”
