• Not all of the extras available.

“We found that the hotel rooms carpet was not recently cleaned, the shower drained slowly, the shower floor was dirty and
the whirlpool was hot but the jets did not work at all. No resturaunt.”

• It was off the beaten path.
• The streets and access to the hotel are terrible.

“It was comfortable and priced well. The stay was good and I will recommend it to others. It was a good ways outside the main city area but it was nice to be away from the noise.”

• Nothing, unfortunately.
• Filthy, smelly, very late on check in, dirty, etc.

“We were disgusted by this hotel. Our room was not ready at 5pm when we arrived, even though check in time is 4pm. The lobby, hallways and rooms smelled terrible - the hot tub had yellow water and the room was very filthy. One pillow and a towel had stains all over them. The shower had many hairs in it and the floor needed to be vacuumed. We will never stay there again.”

“The Hotel is dated. They have a serious goose problem with goose feaces everywhere you walk (outside). I would never stay in this facility again.”

• Pool.
• Someone's barking dog and noisy kids at 6:30 a.m.; hotel staff did nothing about.

“Nice place overall, except for torn sheets and curtains. Hotel staff did nothing about noisy kids yelling and banging on walls or about barking dog in room across the hall. If it wasn't for those few flaws it would have been an excellent stay instead of just good.”

• It was beautiful despite the snow.
• The internet was down the entire time we were there.

• I was surprise that it was only a 2 star rating.
• The walk to the room was not shoveled.

“I was pleased with the overall appearance of the hotel. Because of the 2 star rating I did not expect it to be so nice. The heated pool was a bonus and I would gladly rent a room from the clarion again. I did not have the opportunity to use the restaurant but will plan on it next time. ”

• It was quiet.
• The carpet smelled funny.

“It ended up being a good place to sleep, since they have rooms away from the main swimming pool area that are back by the little lake. I was put in a smoking room even though I¿m a nonsmoker. It was pretty clean, but the carpet smelled mildew. Lots of TV channels, but I read a book instead!”

• The indoor swimming pool was great!
• No beach as advertised on web site/no coffee pot in one of the rooms/air conditioner poor shape.

“If there is a beach advertised, there should be a beach! The rooms were large and clean. The maintenance on the air conditioners was lacking. The pool was open until 11 pm making it hard to get to sleep.”

• Nice and quiet.
• Room wreaked of cigarette smoke - in a non-smoking facility. Vent in bathroom was very noisy.

“Facility seemed okay and clean. One desk attendant was very helpful, another was considerably less friendly (borderline rude). I requested a move from a room which smelled strongly on cigarettes. My request was accommodated, however the second room also smelled of cigarettes though not as strongly.”

• Close to the speedway.
• Under renovation, entire hotel smells like chlorine because of indoor pool.

“The location is great and the staff was friendly. The hotel was under renovation so it did not look that great. The first thing you notice when you walk in is that the entire thing smells like chlorine because there is an indoor pool that is exposed to all of the hallways. We would have liked to have a fridge/micro combo in our room but apparently only the pools around the pool have them. I would not recommend staying there, but maybe I would when the renovations are finished.”

• Hotel was very difficult to find and the directions were not good.

“For the money this hotel was a good value. It is difficult to get to from the interstate. The location was convenient.”

• Did not have enough cribs even though I requested one.

“Not very willing to help. They did not have enough crib. I even called a head and requested one. They said there was plenty. When we arrived they said one would be in our room and it was not. When we asked for one they said one would be right up. Then finally an hour before my son's bed time they said there was no one available. They did nothing to make our stay easier, but to suggest I put a mattress on the floor. Well, we did that and after two hours on running around trying to keep him in bed he fell asleep. Then we were all woken up by the trash being pick-up at 7:00. Finally after much complaining the second day (after his nap of course) They went out a bought a new crib (I do not know why they could not have done that before). I was not a happy customer and would not go back there ever.”

• Easy and quick to get to, had complimentary continental breakfast.
• Some what run-down.

“The Clarion Waterfront was very accessible. The staff was helpful and honest. It is a very large motel, but there was hardly anyone there. It seemed somewhat run-down, as if it was used for racing season.”

• Price was good.
• Very dirty.

“I did not feel very safe at all when I went for a walk around the property at night. The room was very dirty and there was no screen in the window so I didnt feel like I could open the window at night for fresh air. Also, the voice mail was not working properly and the front desk was not very helpful nor could they ever get it to work. The only reason I would go back is if I could get the same rate.”
