• Location.
• Unfriendly staff, small washrooms, dirty carpets.

“The location of the hotel was great. The carpets were filthy, the sheets had holes in them and the air conditioning was very noisy. They should continue with their renovation and may be they should also renovate their unfriendly staff.”

• The lobby.
• Extremely rude staff. It was astonishing how rude.

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The desk clerks were extremely rude and the room was overpriced for what it was. Basically a Motel 6 with a renovated lobby to make it seem like a sophisticated Downtown hotel.”

• It was close to everything.
• The staff was incredible rude and unhelpful.

“The location of this hotel is the only thing it has going. The staff was rude, curt and oblivious to both those facts. Coming from New York City, I thought Chicago would be tame in terms of rudeness but I have never been treated like that in a hotel as a paying guest. One staff member stepped on my foot while running to get in front of me at the elevator while I had all my luggage with and never even apologized. That right there is a summary of the entire staff.”

• Great location! Very friendly staff, clean and great little bar.
• Small bathroom but adequate.

“Super location with helpful and friendly staff. This hotel is small but very clean. It has a great little bar with friendly and helpful bartenders who will give great advice about the city.”

• Very clean and comfortable beds!
• No restaurant - not in store - gift shop - no place to buy some thing to take up to the room to snack on.

• Excellent quality bed in the room.
• They did not have a laundry room-terrible idea.

“The hotel was bare bones. The room was small but adequate as a place to spend the night. Good location. Disappointing that the internet connection was not included in the price (unlike the Best Western in Grant Park).”

“Hotel will be very nice when 1st floor remodel is done. Until then, loud banging, sawing, dust, and limited ingress/egress down stairs to closed floors because of overcrowded slow elevators.”

• It was a cheap hotel for its location, extremely close to the loop in Chicago.
• It was under construction, the rooms were small, slow check-in.

“The hotel was very close to the loop and to transit. However, the rooms were smaller than expected and the lobby was under construction during our stay. The room seemed clean, but nothing fancy.”

“All in all a very disappointing experience. The price was right, but I would still not stay here again. Hotel staff inept and rude. Rooms very dim and very noisy during the day as they're renovating (which is sorely needed). No room service, no snack machines, and no water in any of the vending machines I tried on three different floors. Water pressure in the bathroom is just awful, and some of the guests (and staff!) Left me wondering if I¿d wandered into the carbine green of thirty years ago. I had to run over to the white hen for every single thing I needed during my stay. Just quite frustrating. Would have expected more given the decent location and I¿m not a picky traveler.”

• It was under construction - the parking was not convenient.

“Will probably be a nice hotel after the renovations - parking in Chicago is always terrible - $26.00 for overnight. A bit high.”

• In the middle of renovations / reconstruction, so temporarily no place to eat.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at best western inn of Chicago. I must have gotten one of the renovated rooms (they seem to be working floor-by-floor). The chaos of work was kept to a minimum, and the only think I missed was an "in-house" restaurant / eatery. Still, it was a great experience, and I¿d gladly stay here again. The price was sure right!”

• Unpleasant hotel staff, older hotel that needs remodel, including water pipes.

“This hotel is in an excellent location off Chicago¿s magnificent mile. However, the hotel is older than most and needs a remodel. The upper floors have poor water pressure and sometimes only a trickle of water comes out of the shower head. The hotel staff can be unpleasant. We checked in at 1:30 p.m. And was told our room would be ready at 3:00 p.m. We went shopping and returned at 4:15 and our room was still not ready! At 4:30, we approached the front desk clerk, again: "hi we would like to see if our." clerk cuts us off in mid-sentence, "we're fully booked this weekend!" we explained that we were checking on the status of our room and were given room keys. Upon entering our room, it was not cleaned up from the prior guest! We called the front desk and the manager gave us keys to another room. In all, we finally had a room by 5:00 p.m., only 3.5 hours after we first arrived.”
