“Red Roof Inn on Ontario is a great location. The lobby was bright and decently decorated but the front desk staff seemed bothered to have to leave their break room to attend to your needs. The room we stayed in was tiny; the king-size bed barely left us room to walk around it (less than 2 feet per side. The room itself was not very clean, especially the bathroom. I hate moving our luggage around, so I just went to a nearby Walgreens and bought antibacterial wipes and gave the hard surfaces in the bathroom a good wipe down. We were given fresh towels daily and our bed was made. However, the room was never vacuumed and in one instance, I had left coffee grounds in the little single-cup coffee maker and it was not cleaned out. The two cramped elevators were dirty and they vibrated as they ascended or descended. Bottom line: A mediocre hotel in a great location, not recommended for families. Good enough for a budget-conscious traveler.”

“Great spot to stay when visiting Chicago. No frills but plenty comfortable--met our needs perfectly. I'd definitely revisit this hotel for future trips to the city. Really need to fix the heaters in the rooms though! otherwise, it was great!”

“Great location just off the Magnificent Mile. Rooms were somewhat small, but comfortable. I checked in late and left at check out time, so I didn't really get a great sense of the place, but for the most part, I was very happy with my stay.”

“This hotel was great. The staff was nice and the price was even better. The rooms are very small but it worked just fine for us. It is in a great location as well. Right in the middle of everything.”

“If everything was perfect, the hotel can be ranked with 2 stars. But it was not. Although the small room size, the narrow hallways, could not be improved. but the cleanliness of carpet, and bathroom could use some improvement. Then the coffee supplies not refilled, the hair dryer not working, toilet needing wriggling, were just things that disqualify a comfortable stay. the saving grace was the bed however was clean. I will give it 1-star, not 2-star rating. What really will stop me from going back is WiFi was $7.99 for 24 hours extra. I don't know who else still chargea for WiFi. If I knew, I would have paid more for a better ranking hotel, got the WiFi for free and still came out ahead.”

“I was very disappointed in this hotel stay. They did not have any free parking with this hotel. They did not offer any continental breakfast or food of any kind. I was not given the room requested. I would not recommend this place, nor will I return.”

“Although the location was very convenient, especially for the price, the bathroom was extremely filthy and I didn't get housekeeping services. I came back to my hotel room at 11 pm and had to call the front desk to get some clean towels.”

“The first room I was sent to had been used and there was a big hole in the shower wall. The second room I was sent to was a smoking room. The third room the sheets on the bed had rips and tears in them. The location of the hotel was good. The hotel lobby had lumber sitting in the hall way. The staff was pleasant and helpful.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not have any housekeeping service the 3 nights that I stayed. The bathtub did not drain well at all, I was standing in about 4 inches of water by the time I was finished.”

“friendly staff, great location, super rates, however filthy and in need of remodeling, updating or total renovation. felt slightly unsafe, slighty seedy. My room was not cleaned during my two day stay and the cleaning staff were cleaning unoccupied rooms until 9pm because they did not have clean linens. unbelieveable, unexceptable.”

“As a 2 star hotel, it makes me feel disappointed, because of the cockroaches! The location is great, the price is cheap, so I can not complain too much.”

“This was a great price for a great location, only one block off Michigan Ave. However, if your expectation is a nice size, clean room with all the amenities, this is not for you. This is a one star hotel, not a 2 star!”

“Overall a very good experience. We're two college students used to staying in hostels, and this hotel offered a comparable price, with much more to offer. The staff was very helpful as well!”

“Great location. Comparatively cheap parking. Suffered in narrowness of room, attractiveness of room and smugness of one person bathroom. The beds though more comfortable than expectation based on decor. Night staff seriously needs help given that she asked my husband to wait while she finished a personal cell phone call. Valet was good and very honest and patient with us as we were traveling with three kids in Carseats.”

“The hotel was dirty and smelled. We waited 30 minutes just to get into the room because the keys would not work and tried three rooms. The room was so small there was only room to walk through not really any sitting or standing room. The bathroom had no room to turn around in and no counter space. There was ice buckets but no ice machine, coffee maker but no coffee. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed.”

“If the room and bathroom had been even remotely clean I would have really enjoyed my stay. The staff was extremely friendly. The location was excellent. The valet service is more affordable than others in the area. The place was just not clean at all.”
