• It was clean. But I wouldn't stay there again unless I was paying a lot less.
• Staff was ill-tempered; they added charges for everything (incl a phone call to front desk). Just generally not a great experience.

“Hotel is clean, but very large and impersonal. They add extra charges for everything - parking (not surprising in Downtown), the gym, internet usage, phone calls to the front desk, etc. I felt like they were nickel & dimming us at every turn. The staff is surly and I wouldn't really consider this a luxury hotel - the W and Westins are much nicer. I think the experience would have been nicer if there hadn't been so many surcharges. I expect to pay for parking but some of the other stuff should have been included in the room rate. And the location wasn't that great - you are still a ways from the magnificent mile.”

• Beautiful old hotel well maintained with modern conveniences.
• With 1500 rooms it is a very busy place.

“This is a wonderful old landmark hotel that has been well maintained. The room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I wish there were more restaurants in the general area of the hotel. The location on the park is great.”

• Good quality.
• Somewhat removed from Chicago central facilities, and the parking cost is outrageously high.

• Clean, convenient, great location.
• Food, vending machines way over priced!! even for Chicago.

“The Chicago Hilton was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anybody for any reason. For families the distance to your car in the garage can be a bit of a hike to get back into the hotel. $41.00 to park is a bit high considering on both corners behind the hotel parking is at most $17.00 a day and is actually easier to access the hotel from there!”

• Very clean. Bathrooms were very large.
• Very small rooms and overly decorated. It felt very crowded.

“This hotel was very nice, but felt a little old-fashioned. It was extremely large and was kept very clean, but it lacked a person touch. Very little staff around to help as well. The rooms were very clean, and the bathrooms were quite nice. However the rooms were very cramped. The beds were the best part of it all. One of the most comfortable mattresses Ive ever slept on. Probably would not stay here again.”

“The hotel staff was wonderfully helpful and professional. The concierge was delightful. All staff were eager to assist. The Hilton name was very well represented. The Michigan Avenue location was awesome.”

• Two full bathrooms in our room!
• Liked everything, great place to stay.

“This was a great hotel in a great location within walking distance of the major museums & Millennium Park. Staff was very friendly, the concierges gave great restaurant advice, and the room was very nice.”

• Great location.
• Parking is too expensive, did not get room with a view.

“Very good location, near various Chicago transit lines. Across from famous parks, near various museums. Lots of nice places to eat nearby, and some lounges/bars as well nearby. Also, plenty of cheap places to eat nearby, if that's what you want.”

• There was not any thing I did not like.

“Staff was very friendly and courteous and accommodated guest's request quickly. Room nicely decorated and well kept. Bathroom was an absolute treasure.”

• The price, its convenient location to theatre and train, friendly courteous staff.
• Restaurant cost.

“We were met with friendly competent staff to check us in. We loved our room. It had two double beds and two bathrooms. That is a plus when you travel with a teen. Then we went to concierge to get directions to a place to eat. She was helpful and understandable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well.”

“For business it was perfect. I am not sure this would be the first place I would think to bring my family for vacation or overnight stay. I have two girls 14 and 10.”

• Guest had to pay to use public computers at the hotel.

“Loved the hotel! Very clean. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Beautiful indoor pool and hot tub area. The room we stayed in had 2 beds and 2 baths. Convenient location - across the street from Grant Park. Walking distance to museums and Millennium Park. My family will definitely stay at this hotel again!”

• We liked the view of Lake Michigan and the supreme helpfulness of the hotel staff.
• There was nothing we did not like.

“The hotel, built in 1927, has a modern feel, with shiny marble and new (or very well maintained) carpeting throughout the public areas. There was an abundance of seating areas in the public areas, shops, an Irish pub, good restaurant, and lobby-area am coffee/pm drinks bar. Our room gave us a view of Lake Michigan and Grant Park. The room was clean, with two bathrooms, lovely linens, desk, TV and mini-bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking and bellhop service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay.”

• Having 2 bathrooms was wonderful.
• The demeanor of the casual dining restaurant staff left something to be desired.

“Beautiful hotel. Well appointed rooms, clean. Having two bathrooms was great! The beds were very comfortable. Registration staff very pleasant. Kiosk for printing boarding passes is a plus. Would definitely stay again on future visits.”
