“Hotel was very nice. No kid friendly channels on TV, the restaurant connected to hotel was not kid friendly either (Food-wise, staff was great). Food was not that great (breakfast only - buffet). Room service did have a kids menu and that was good. Bed was comfortable and hotel was a block away from the trolley tour stop we used. A Walgreens was next door which was nice for snacks and incidentals. Room also had a DVD/CD player which was great since we brought along movies. I would stay here again if it was just me, but not again with my 5 year old. Overall the hotel was very nice though.”

“It was only ok. The service was inconsistent. The room was adequate, but when we asked for the possibility of a different room with 2 queen beds instead of a king, so our 10 year old son could have his own bed, we were basically told we were out of luck.”

“The hotel location was great for walking Michigan Ave. in Chicago. Difficult to unload luggage - right in the middle of traffic. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was stark, and not very comfortable.”

“Overall, I liked the hotel, but I had a few issues. First off, the veneer was coming off the desk and there were watermarks on it. More importantly, I had to leave early and in a hurry and left two expensive bottles of cologne in the room. When I called, they said that they didn't find them. As far as I'm concerned, that's stealing. What I did like was the location. I spend a lot of time both on the Mag mile and in the loop for business when I go and this hotel is perfectly located right in between them.”

“The Hard Rock hotel is right in the heart of Chicago. Parking was a little expensive at $45 per day but I guess that is to be expected in a "big city". The hotel was very quite. Overall we had an excellent stay.”

“Overall the hotel was nice except for the very dark theme and the sinks are horrible do not turn on the water while you are dressed will splash over you. I also had a teenage boy who was very bored.”

“We had excellent service, no waiting for check-in and a very short wait for our car at check-out. The hotel was quiet and clean, though the decor and furnishings seemed a little cheap. Overall, we had a quiet, comfortable and convenient stay. We would have liked it if the rooms had wireless connectivity for us to use both computers simultaneously, but it wasn't a big problem. I would stay again.”

“In general, I like the hotel staff because they were very friendly and helpful. They even called once to make sure everything was suitable. The room was very clean, but it was dark and the furniture looked cheap, the kind that you can peel off the fake wood to expose compressed particle board; silvery, plastic end tables; and a fake rattle skin fabric. That kind of stuff doesn't bother me, but the room looked outdated. There were a couple of times that I could smell smoke, even though the room was supposed to be smoke free. If you can live with these minor flaws, the hotel is in a great location and you can walk to some fine restaurants and other tourist attractions. They also have some cool memorabilia in the hallways.”

“A dozen roses paid for and never received, all concerned agree these flowers we're never delivered to my room but two weeks later, several calls and I have yet to see a credit for the florist charges of $91.75. We we're booked into a 2 kings instead of, a suite and a king and had to call to remedy that error before we even arrived in Chicago. We had to micromanage the affairs of guest services constantly and had to have several erroneous charges removed from our bill. Different stories for errors on our bill from front desk-concierge-and guest services. Cold food served at breakfast. Audio systems that we had to wire to enjoy the so-called state of the art entertainment center (less than an impressive sound system for a place that calls itself the Hard Rock Hotel). Broken blinds in suite room which made it difficult to sleep in after late night concerts and clubbing in the city. The location, historic building (Union Carbide building), beautiful view, pleasant housekeeping and sipping room staff we're the highlights of our stay. While the stress of repeated errors and disregard for client charges prevent me from recommending this hotel to others.”

“We checked in the room they moved us to had someone else's luggage in it. When we called the front desk they told us to put the stuff in the hall and they would get it, no one was supposed to be checked into that room. That night when we came back after dinner at midnight there was a man at the door trying to get into his room. We told him what had happened and he went to the front desk. When we were in the lobby in the morning I overheard someone else saying they were given the wrong room upon check in.”

“The hotel room was very modern, there wasnt a lot of good lighting except 4 in the bathroom but where else does u really need it! We needed more towels in the room but room service ran more right up so no probs there. Over my entire partner an I would definitely stay there again and have already recommended the hard rock hotel to others. Star there its an awesome place.”
