• The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

“Overall the hotel rocked, the staff was very friendly and helpful, was not far from most attractions, the atmosphere in the hotel and the bar was phenomenal, and the room was spacious with a good vibe.”

• My husband I loved the bedding, pillows, etc.
• Not enough lighting.

“The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. Upon checkout we were told there were no additional charges...we have since seen a $50 charge on our credit card pending. This will be our only issue if it is charged to our card.”

• Rooms cannot be well lit - not enough lighting.

“The location of the Hard Rock Chicago is fantastic. Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan, Riverwalk and Cruises, Restaurants and Clubs are all an easy walk away. Room was clean and recently refurbished. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable. The room was a bit dark at night, even with every light on. We didn't use the restaurants in the hotel so I have no opinion of them.”

“A great themed hotel just 2 blocks south of the river and the magnificent mile with restaurants and shopping only minutes away. Try the nearby boat rides for great views of Chicago. The Subway is only minutes away for convenient access to the Cubs and White Sox.”

• Concierge staff was knowledgeable and very attentive to needs.

“While the rooms were not as large as originally described and the hotel lobby lounge and restaurant were quite small, the overall location of this hotel is perfect for those weekend Chicago leisure trips. The concierge staff was great at working with us and able to help us find spots and events we were looking for.”

• Hard to find a cup of coffee after 8AM.

• Aveda bath products were great.
• The open shower glass doesn't prevent splashing, and makes the shower drafty.

“Super convenient hotel to see all of Downtown Chicago. Close to everything, and close to all CTA lines to get out of the city as well. The rooms are a bit cramped, but an excellent value for the money spent.”

“The Hard Rock Hotel really does rock. All of the service & hotel staff was wonderful for a first time guest. The rooms were clean & the bedding comfortable. The staff accommodated every one of our requests without hesitation. The view & location excellent. I will stay here again.”

• The decor is exactly what is to be expected at a Hard Rock Hotel.
• There was no ice bucket in the room which made it difficult to chill anything due to no refrigerator available.

“Overall, the stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would consider staying again and would tell friends about it as well.”

• I was not sure what to expect from the Hard Rock. It was fantastic! Cool decor, hip staff, just right!
• What is not to like? It was great.

“My great friend from CA and I planned this rendezvous. We left husbands at home and each brought one child. We were on the Bob Dylan floor and even the kids learned a bit of rock history and appreciated our delight at the hotel. Fantastic visit. Very cool and friendly staff.”

• Clean, good location, good service, fun theme, terrific Chinese fusion restaurant.
• Could use more child-friendly amenities (pool, breakfast, etc), room somewhat small.

“The Hard Rock Hotel was well suited for a quick, fun weekend in Chicago. The staff cheerfully accommodated us when we had requests. We enjoyed perusing the rock'n'roll memorabilia, which were cool but not over the top like the restaurants. We would definitely go back.”

• Location, size of room and comfortable bed.
• Poor lighting, dull decor and bad noise transfer from corridor.

“Great place to stay as a base for Chicago. Rooms very comfortable but subdued ambience was overplayed particularly in the bedroom. All staff very helpful. Restaurant rather cold and impersonal, particularly when compared to other Chicago places to eat.”
