• The location.
• It was dirty, stains on the couches.

“Dirty. The staff was rude, when asked about upgrading and would not offer us a different room.”

• Room was too small and old furniture.

“I truly think that management may want to consider possibly remodeling this hotel. The room was not that clean, the furniture seem to be old and the carpet had stains on it.”

• The zebra covered chair was nice.
• The elevator was filthy!

“Poor. The bed was comfortable but no remote for the Sleep Number. We called and needed a ride back to the hotel from a concert and they did not help us!”

• Convenient location and good rooms.
• They did not use fitted sheets on the mattress, just a flat one. It was always twisted around by morning. Very uncomfortable.

• Was surprised by only one bed.

“This hotel is in a great location to Grant Park and the museums! Just a short bus ride and you are there. The staff is friendly.”

• Hotel staff was very congenial and helpful.
• Room was a little dingy.

“The hotel was great in that it is in walking distance of the museums in Grant Park (which was my goal w/ my grandson) and the Millennium Park; food in the little diner downstairs was poor and the room a little dingy  i.e. badly stained rug but overall was comfortable and safe for the budget traveler.”

• Fine for staying one night if not spending too much time in the room. Very clean, but old.
• Heater made a lot of noise at night.

“We were happy with the hotel. It was old but comfortable. It also didn't cost us a fortune to spend one night there.”

• Location, although lengthy, was walking distance to the shopping strip.
• Didn't like the condition of the hotel. Needs to be remodeled. Could be a lot cleaner.

“This room could have been a lot cleaner. We had a bad experience and received no help from the front desk. For the price I paid I was expecting a 1-star hotel and I def. got one. I might stay here again only if the prices are dirt cheap but would not likely recommend it to anyone any of my friends because of the condition it is in. I have mixed feelings.”

• Front desk and valet very, very helpful and friendly.
• Maid service slow and somewhat lacking.

“Convenient to the train station, Loop, Michigan Avenue, and State Street. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. Small rooms, but adequate. Maid service slow.”

• Perfectly located in Downtown, short walk or cab ride to most attractions.
• The el train track ran right in front of hotel (noisy).

“I checked in a little early and they found me a room right away. One thing though is the wireless internet did not work, called front desk first day they said it would be down for a couple of hours, the third day it was still not running, called the technician myself at 1800 number provided in the room, said it had been down in most their hotels for quite some time and wouldn't be fixed anytime soon, suggested I used it in lobby, which is inconvenient if u are working and need an internet connection.”

• Small and cozy room.
• Shower had troubles (spurting water) window did not lock.

“Staff was very accommodating, perfect hotel for someone who just needs comfort and not luxury. Noise can be an issue if you're particular.”

• Great location.
• Very outdated, not very clean.

“I wasn't expecting too much, not for the price I paid. However, the room was very tiny and the sleeper sofa which my son had to sleep on was stained and tattered. There also were no extra pillows in the room; called twice and waited over an hour to get some more and we finally gave up. The room needed a good cleaning. The front desk people were very unhelpful. I did feel safe at the hotel, however, and the other guests seemed to be in the same boat as we were.”

• Location was good.
• Too old, even after renovation.

“Staff very friendly. Old hotel, which is obvious by the radiator in the room. Also no hot water. Stayed in February, had no hot water and little to no heat.”

• The only thing I liked about this hotel is the location.
• The room was oddly set up, the heater made annoying noises all night so I did not get one night of good sleep.

“Well like I said above, The room was oddly set up. I stayed with a friend and the T.V. was set up in front of the bed she used. My be was on the other side of the room, so we had to move the T.V. so we could both see it. The heater made annoying noises all night so neither of us got one night of good sleep.”

• I like the room it spacious and very comfortable for two people nice set up with mini fridge and sink.
• The shower drained very slow.

“This hotel was a great spot. Their were places to eat right in the area of the hotel. You could catch the train a block over. The room was a nice set up. Only thing I did not like was the shower drained really slow. And the daytime crew at the hotel front desk were great.”

• The hotel's location was very convenient.
• I didn't like that I had to pay for parking, but I guess that is to be expected in Chicago.

“The hotel had clean rooms and was conveniently located near the Shed Aquarium, the Field Museum, and Solider Field. There is a parking garage directly across the street but it cost $27.00 per day to park and you must check your car out by 2:00. If you are traveling in the winter and you have room in your bag, I would bring a pair of sandals or slippers for the bathroom because the floor in ours was tile and was along the outside of the building. The floor was unbearably cold! Other than that no complaints.”
