• Locale and décor.
• Too expensive for what it is. Not value received.

“Ok but not worth the money. Also you need to get peoples discount factors (i.e.: auto club, Chicago house wares show) even though this is not your thing, I felt ripped off as I paid more than I should have, all things considered.”

• Better request a good view or you will be looking at the fire escape in the ally.
• Guest rooms were very small.

“We first got to our room and it was facing the ally and all we can see was the fire escape next to us. We asked if there was any way to get a better view of the city, they said it would be an upgrade which would cost more money. in conclusion. I was very disappointed with our room and would have rather gone to another hotel for cheaper.”

“It was everything that I hoped it would be! I enjoy boutique hotels. It felt very warm and comfortable. Chicago is the best and we had a great view. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was very good as well.”

• Staff was extremely pleasant, decor was lovely, location was great, and turn down service was nice.
• Wished they'd left the complimentary tea and coffee out in the lobby past 9am! Very minor complaint-my stay was lovely.

• The service was exceptional, the rooms comfortable.
• I have food allergies. The restaurant charged me extra to substitute food that I could eat.

“I would stay in the hotel Monaco again. I would not eat at the south water kitchen, as I found the menu to be extremely limited and overpriced for the quality of the food that I was served. The staff at the hotel Monaco was extremely helpful, and the location was excellent.”

• It was me and my son who is 5 so I got to enjoy some relaxing things in the room and he loved the bed in the window which he said was his room. All of.
• My son is 5 and he was looking so forward to the goldfish upon arrival which we did not get. No childrens menu selections.

“Very clean, excellent staff! Not really geared for a kids stay. Missed getting offered the goldfish for our room!”

“My wife and I really liked the room. It was our anniversary and they sent up free champagne. When we went to dinner the concierge gave us a free appetizer voucher for Geno's. Great downtown location.”

“The hotel was at really convenient place at downtown Chicago. But, the hotel was smaller than I thought. It was not 4 star hotel but staff is really friendly and room was cute.”

“The staff at this hotel is unbelievably friendly, helpful and serves a great wine reception at night. The rooms are very clean and you can feel the quality inside. Very close to the lake and parks, Michigan Ave. (shopping/food/bars) and many other restaurants.”

• The vibe was both warm and hip.
• There was no fan in the bathroom.

“The Hotel Monaco provided the perfect romantic getaway for my wife and I to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Located centrally between the theaters and shopping venues on Michigan Avenue, it was both a great value AND a glamorous setting! The staff was knowledgeable and kind. We also enjoyed the little perks, like the free cocktail hour and groovy robes. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return.”

• The gym was terrible! It was too small to be considered a gym! You should take this off your description of this hotel.

• You can hear the L-train late into the night.

• Very friendly staff, current decor, and the goldfish "pet" were great.
• No comment.

• Outstanding friendliness and service of staff, elegant appointments.
• Would have liked a room higher up, but our room was nice.

“The Hotel was much more elegant than we expected it to be, and the staff were more helpful than usual. It was our anniversary, and they brought us complimentary champagne and cookies, which was very touching. We would really recommend this hotel to others.”

• Very unique, and fun yet elegant rooms.
• Concierge was not very knowledgeable.
