  • Location, decor of lobby.
  • Rooms were okay. More a 3 star than a 4 star.

“Location couldn't be much better, lobby/public areas are very nice. Rooms seem more like 3 star than 4 star. Wallpaper peeling, ripped rug, etc.”

  • Parking is way expensive.

  • The location was a great central location in Downtown Chicago.
  • The valet parking was expensive. The desk staff was a bit ill tempered.

“We really liked the location and the room was pretty good. However having stayed at other 4 star hotels, I don't think the room was at that level. Valet was expensive, but I would say they were very efficient no matter what time of the day or early morning we returned. The desk staff was not particularly friendly.”

“Excellent facility and first class. The staff was very nice and the room was perfect. Our room was right on the water and had a beautiful view of the city. I would recommend this hotel for location.”

  • Horrible service/ confirmation arrangements not kept.

“The Westin was an attractive hotel on the inside and it was very clean. However, there were aspects of my stay that left me with a negative view of the hotel. I confirmed the day before and arranged for there to be 2 queen sized beds in Leiu of one king. They did not honor that arrangement and to make things worse, they promised me a roll-away bed and never brought it up to the room. when i went down a few hours later, they explained that they'd run out of roll-away beds hours before we arrived and that the lady at the front desk who had promised me a roll-away was new and doesn't know what she's talking about. Well don't have her working at a 4 star hotel without supervision if she doesn't know what she's talking about. Thus my fiancee and I had to sleep on the floor.”

  • The hotel was in a great location, close to the train but far away from the crowds.
  • The price of the food was on the very high side.

“The hotel met my expectations and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the Chicago area. I just hope I can get a little less expensive room.”

  • The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
  • I don't think this hotel had a pool which I was disappointed with.

“I was booked at the Westin in North River location. When we checked in we were told the hotel was over booked and we would be moved to the downtown Westin. I booked the room on Monday, and called on Wednesday to confirm the room and hotel, but was moved to another hotel on check-in on Friday. The hotel manager did give us the room for free due to the inconvenience caused us. Please cancel the reservation price you were going to charge us, as we did not have to pay for the room. We had to alter our plans for the evening due to the shifted location.”

“Nice hotel and easy access to everything. The kids loved that our room looked over the river that was there entertainment. I only wish they had a pool. We would stay again.”

  • Excellent location, very clean.
  • Some of the decor was missing on the walls and the sheets didn't match.

“The main lobby was large, clean and a very social environment. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and nice, however some of the decor was missing from the walls and that took away from how attractive I would rate the room.”
