  • Good front desk staff.
  • Price of parking my car and the feminine decor.

“Small rooms, iffy heating.”

  • Decor.
  • Noisy heating system.

“This is a recently remodeled old hotel. It comes off extremely well, except that the air exchange system was not updated. The heating was loud enough to wake us.”

  • The hotel is located just north of Michigan Avenue on a quiet tree-lined street.
  • Rooms were a bit small but understandable for an older building.

“The hotel is a nice change of pace from the larger convention type hotels like the Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriot, etc. as the hotel is smaller and more intimate. The rooms are small, which is not a surprise given the overall age of the building, but very well appointed and uniquely decorated. I loved the bed, the sheets, the pillows, everything. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall I would stay there again.”

  • Smoking and a $40 charge to upgrade to non-smoking. Ridiculous!

“The clerk at front desk left a lot to be desired. Sales pitch from the beginning of check-in and then we were told that we had a smoking room and to "upgrade" to a non-smoking room would be an additional $40. The hallways were very smoke-filled and the room was like an ashtray. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been-simple surface dirt which was bad on sink, air vent, door, etc. Parking for $37 a night is overpriced compared to other big cities where it is $21-$25 a night. Definitely not a 3-star hotel. And to charge a guest an upgrade fee of $40 for a non-smoking room (especially on a Wednesday night) is more than ridiculous.”

  • The double queen room was cozy and felt like home.
  • The front staff was a little snappy.

“Very cozy, smelt like cookies. Highly recommended for people who dont mind purple.”

  • The kitchen in the suite.
  • At breakfast there was always a long line to make waffles.

“Loved the hotel room and would definitely stay there again.”

  • Great location, staff and unique rooms.
  • Bad sound proofing allowed for all hallway noises to be heard inside the room.

“For the price I paid, I was very happy with Hotel Indigo. Had I paid the rack rate I would not have been so happy. The room was clean (although small), the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was incredible. My only real gripe was the noise level - I was woken up by just about everything going on out in the hallway, slamming doors, people talking, etc. It literally sounded like my door was wide open even though it was closed. I would recommend asking for an end room for this reason & bring your earplugs.”

  • Decor was charming and welcoming.
  • Room located outside elevator door was noisy.

“Excellent stay and a charming surprise. Could not believe that this was a 2.5 star hotel.”

  • There was no pool.

  • Great boutique hotel in upscale neighborhood.
  • Room was a bit small -- queen instead of requested king.

“This is a great boutique hotel in a very upscale neighborhood. Never would have discovered it on our own. Nice Italian restaurant across the street, reasonably priced. Parking is normally $36, but hotel staff offered us a free space on the street right in front of the hotel.”

  • Hotel was different, liked the bright colors of the room.
  • Wish rooms had refrigerators / mircrowave.

“Hotel accommodations were moderate. Friendly. Only disappointment was I requested double beds which I thought was included in price, but was charged additional $20 per day. after complaint reduced to $10 a day. Also I left my food on the table and came back and there were ants in my food - meal discarded.”

  • Liked the location close to the loop public transport.
  • Parking cost, worn out rooms, cramped, no room for chairs, TV old.

“This hotel, for a Intercontinental group property, did not meet expectations. Parking while next door was $38 per 24 hr period. Queen room was very cramped, bathroom door did not close, TV was old, in short not enough space in the room for anything other than a desk chair - not very comfortable.”

  • Very relaxing, comfortable, clean, wonderful decor.

“This hotel was everything that I wanted and more. Absolutely cute as can be. It makes you feel like you're at the beach. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable. Loved the shower.”

  • Location is good.
  • Extremely tiny rooms. Poor interior decor.

“The hotel is clean. The rooms are extremely tiny. After you put down your suitcase, you will have to tiptoe inside the room. The bathroom is also tiny with a barely there sink counter top. The staff is fairly friendly but nothing stands out. All in all, if you just want a hole at a convenient location to sleep in, it's fine. Parking is next to impossible around the hotel. The parking garage right next door costs $37/day. Think twice about renting a car if you are staying there, especially considering public transportation and cabs are easy to get to.”

  • Great location on a quite street.

“Great location, close to downtown and just a block away from the red line. Short walk to Oak street beach.”
