• Great location.
• The cleanliness and construction. I wouldn't have stayed had I known they were doing construction.

“When we arrived to the hotel, we noticed it was a great location. However, once we entered, there was construction going on. I was really bummed about the condition the hotel was in and the price that we payed. I was expecting a little more. I have bad allergies so with the exposed walls and ducts work; I had a hard time sleeping (there was nothing exposed in our room, the room was in normal condition). I can say that we had a nice view and like I said the location was nice.”

• Nicely decorated room. Very clean. Great kitchenette.
• There wasn't much of a view at all.

“Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with our room. I was expecting a small room, but our room was a very nice size. The staff was very nice and extremely quick to bring and extra blanket and luggage rack.”

• Star ranking was poor. Bad location and not visible.

• Free bottled water, location.
• Size of bathroom, variance of room amenities for same price.

“Great location. Basic hotel, but still very nice. We reserved two identical rooms. Once room was very basic. Small TV, small bathroom, desk. The other had a kitchenette, larger bathroom, larger TV, large table and chairs. Why so different for the same price? I wish that the amenities in each room were more consistent.”

• Very clean, small, but nice room.
• Had to change rooms due to construction noise.

“The hotel was very good. We had to change rooms because we woke up on Saturday to construction noise early (7 am). There was not to be construction on the weekends from what we were told. The room and facilities were very clean and in a great location for us.”

• Simple and neat good for the single business traveler.
• Spartan rooms, small bathroom with little vanity space.

“The room reminded us of a dormitory room for the business traveler. Small, tidy room with very little space to stretch and let your suitcase hang out. My husband & I stayed here and our standard king room was very cramped for two. The front desk had a small stand for local attractions, but overall the hotel was lacking for the leisure traveler.”

• Excellent location.
• Did not accommodate us with two double beds as our contract required. They actually said they did not have any double beds. We received a queen bed.

“I even called a day ahead of time to confirm. They still did not accommodate us with a two double beds once we arrived. We also asked for some decaffeinated coffee. They indicated they would have it sent up. It never arrived.”

• Loved the location and the attached bar/restaurant.
• Small accommodations.

“The hotel was in a perfect location. Easy walking access to State Street shopping and a good walk to Magnificent Mile shopping. Rooms were nice, clean, but a little on the small side. Perfect for a girls weekend. I would definitely stay there again!”

• Proximity to Union station and CTA stops was excellent.
• Layout of the room felt small around the bathroom/closet.

“This hotel met my expectations and then some. The location was fantastic and the staff was very professional, yet very friendly at the same time. The room was very clean and the bed was more comfortable than Ive come to expect from non-luxury hotels.”

• Room is a bit small. We got wake up 4 of the six mornings by the noises of the heating pipe at 5 am!

• I was surprised at the room. Though it was small, it was very cute a comfortable. Fresh flowers in lobby everyday.
• The room did not have a bath, only a large shower.

“The hotel was very well situated and the staff was very friendly and willing to lend a hand. The rooms were small but surprisingly cozy and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay very much and will not hesitate to use the hotel again.”

• The room was very small. It fit a bed and very little room for anything else.

“This was in a good location but the room size was very small. Someone who suffers from claustrophobia should avoid this hotel. The hallways were tight and narrow, the rooms were small and the only way up is in the elevator which works only with a room key. I could not locate the stairs from the first floor and when I asked for stair access to get up, I was told there wasn't access to the public.”

• Good location and computer access. Great elevator.
• Claustrophobic rooms, more like a monk's cell.

“The rooms are too small for two, and oddly shaped. Within walking distance of the Art Institute, that is worth a lot of inconvenience. I expected a more upscale hotel, but this is fairly Spartan.”
